When we arrived at the Comfort Inn it was closed - we were told it was a water main failure. We were sent east to a sister hotel the Quality Inn. We got a room with two double beds not a suite as paid for. This is not acceptable we are owed a refund.

Top Tips
- Book 4 to 8 weeks in advance for Binghamton University events such as commencement or homecoming, since hotels in Vestal and downtown often fill up quickly. After checking event dates on the Binghamton University website, reserve your stay as early as possible to avoid missing out.
- Rates rise quickly around area festivals like Spiedie Fest & Balloon Rally, so secure your hotel 6 to 12 weeks in advance for better value. Use the Visit Binghamton events calendar to time your booking and avoid last-minute price hikes.
- Vestal Parkway (NY-434) hotels offer free surface parking and are 5 to 12 minutes by car from both downtown and SUNY Binghamton, which is especially useful if you need quick highway access. Most national chains along this route include daily breakfast and fitness amenities.
- Public transportation from Greater Binghamton Airport (BGM) is limited, so plan to use a rental car, rideshare, or taxi; typical fares to downtown start around $20 to $30. Check if your hotel offers shuttle service, especially if you arrive late or have extra luggage.
- Some downtown hotels exclude onsite parking and instead use city-owned garages, which often charge $15 to $30 per night. Contact your hotel directly to confirm parking charges and garage access before booking.
- Winter stays are challenging due to frequent snow and subfreezing temperatures. Choose hotels with indoor or covered parking to reduce your risk of delays or ice buildup on your car, especially if you have early plans.
- Extended-stay suite hotels along Vestal Parkway have kitchenettes and more space, making them ideal for multi-night stays or families. Save on meals for stays of three nights or longer by using in-room cooking facilities at properties like Staybridge Suites or Homewood Suites.
- Historic downtown hotels may have limited step-free access or older elevators due to building age. For accessible rooms or mobility support, ask for explicit ADA room confirmation when booking, and confirm the presence of features like ramp access, elevator size, and visual or audible alarms.
