Location is terrific. You can walk to anything you want, and if you're genuinely a moderate walker, even the staff are pleasant trek. Plus, the hotel itself is the kind of place someone wanting to check out and unplug never has to leave.
We loved how laid back it was. It was quiet and had a small intimate feel unlike the typical hotel. We liked the location of the room and the privacy we felt that came with it.
Quiet, comfortable without being too fluffy. It has enough edge that you feel like you're in LA without being consumed by its superficiality. AND the staff is always lovely.

It's history and location.
Quaint and adorable boutique hotel, which is actually a collection of bungalows. Each is different, each with its own charm and character. So much more space than a traditional hotel room, including full size refrigerator and mini washer dryer.

Only the location
I thought this hotel was great, but I had realistic expectations. For the price point, its remarkable. The location is awesome. You can walk a block and shop at Whole Foods. You can walk .2 miles to a Starbucks, Rodeo Dr etc
The room was clean and livable, and the TV and WiFi worked well. The room clearly had lots of coats-of-paint to keep dressing it up and maybe hide some aging secrets.

Top Tips
- Book 6 to 12 weeks before LA Pride in June to avoid 50-150% room rate increases, as downtown West Hollywood hotels sell out first and last-minute rates often double. This also applies during other high-demand periods like major concerts or film festivals. Check flexible cancellation policies in case your plans change.
- Budget for hotel parking or mandatory valet at $35-$75 per night, which can add 20-40% to your base room rate on short stays. Ask about self-park options or nearby municipal lots upon arrival, or consider shared transportation such as the Metro Red Line Hollywood/Highland station about 2.5 miles east. Some hotels offer shuttle services within the local area.
- Expect mandatory daily amenity or resort fees in the $20-$45 range, often not included in the initial search results, making the full nightly cost 15-30% higher. Review which amenities are included, such as pool access or daily credits, to maximize value.
- To reduce late-night noise, avoid rooms facing Sunset Strip or Santa Monica Boulevard, as nightlife runs until 2:00 AM. Request a higher-floor room facing an internal courtyard or rear alley, and ask at check-in if the hotel offers in-room white noise machines or blackout curtains for added comfort.
- Confirm your hotel's cannabis and smoking policies before arrival, as most prohibit on-premises smoking and enforce cleaning fees or fines. Request the written policy when booking to avoid surprise charges, and ask if there are designated outdoor areas or patios where smoking is allowed under local law.
- Los Angeles tap water is potable, so bring a refillable bottle to save roughly $2-$4 per single-use bottle and reduce waste during your stay. Many upscale West Hollywood hotels have filtered water dispensers available for guests.
- Leverage hotel loyalty status to reduce incidental fees; elite status with major brands in West Hollywood often provides free breakfast, parking reductions, or waived resort fees, potentially offsetting $20-$75 daily in extras. Some brands, including Marriott and Hilton, also offer free late checkout or lounge access for higher-tier guests.
- Inspect the final 'taxes & fees' line since city transient-occupancy taxes, state assessments, and mandatory fees often add 20-25% to the listed room rate in West Hollywood. For current tax rates, visit the City of West Hollywood's official lodging tax webpage.
- Boutique and historic West Hollywood hotels may have spotty step-free access. Request an accessible, ADA-compliant room with specific features like a roll-in shower or elevator access when reserving, and specify other needs such as visual alarms or accessible parking to ensure proper accommodation.
- During peak nightlife or event periods, use hotel-designated ride-hail pickup points, as this typically shortens wait times by 3-15 minutes compared to curbside requests on crowded streets. Some hotels offer courtesy car service within a 1-2 mile radius; inquire if available for your evening plans.
