Great location and historical value, a definite 50's era experience. The bed was very comfortable and everything was clean and worked well. The remote didn't turn on the TV, but there is a power button on the side, everything worked fine after that.

No carpet in the room. Carpets attract lots of dust and can seem clean, but many times they are not. I always check the bottom soles of my slippers before I leave to help determine the cleanliness of floors.

Top Tips
- Book Seattle hotel stays 2-4 months in advance for June-August to avoid 25-50% price increases during peak events like Seafair. Planning ahead also secures your choice of properties near major attractions, since top hotels in downtown and along the waterfront often reach capacity these months.
- Include 15-18% in state and local hotel taxes when budgeting; this commonly adds $15 to $50 per night in Seattle. You can view a breakdown of estimated taxes and fees during booking, so review these to avoid surprises upon check-out.
- Prioritize Belltown hotels for a 5-10 minute walk to Pike Place Market and easy access to restaurants on 1st and 2nd Avenue. For lower crime rates—10-15% below the city average—consider staying in Ballard, where hotel options often include local-style amenities such as weekend farmers markets.
- Confirm Wi-Fi speeds are at least 50 Mbps for remote work. Most Seattle hotels offer 50-100 Mbps, suitable for video calls, though 1-2 storm-related outages may occur annually; ask your hotel about back-up connectivity if you need uninterrupted service.
- Use the in-room safe to secure valuables, as opportunistic theft accounts for 20-30% of reported crimes in Seattle's main tourist areas. Some upscale hotels offer enhanced security features or front desk safe deposit on request for high-value items.
- If you need step-free access, request it when booking. About 70% of downtown hotels have elevators and ramps, but historic properties in hilly neighborhoods can have stairs only—ask about the specific accessible features available for your room and in common areas before arrival.
- Choose a LEED-certified hotel to minimize environmental impact. Over 15 Seattle hotels have reduced water use by 20-30%, and many offer additional green amenities such as in-room recycling bins and bulk toiletries.
- Bring rain gear, as Seattle averages over 150 rainy days each year and short downpours can occur even in summer. Many hotels offer umbrellas at the front desk or loaner rain jackets—call ahead to confirm availability.
