The location is perfect. They have the hotel cleaning service check each day if you need anything for your room, and vacuumed the sand off carpet while we were gone which was great.
Very close to the beach. Clean updated rooms and friendly staff.
The best is the location. Close to everything.

I booked the room then had to cancel literally 10 minutes later and this hotel would not give me my money back. The Blue Water Inn is a horrible, decrepit hotel and the manager is a total jerk. I am posting my remarks on fb, Instagram, etc.

2 words can only Describe the hotel SCHITTS CREEk!
Everything was a lot cleaner than expected. Yes, there were some minor things missing in the room like towel racks and such but overall, they were little things that didn¿t effect the stay.

The bed was very comfortable. There was a lot of room to walk around the room and the water never ran cold on us. There was a flyer in our room to a restaurant that delivers food. The food came in less than 30 minutes and it was delicious.

Top Tips
- Book hotels 6 to 9 months ahead to secure lower rates and room availability during Ocean City's peak summer season (June-August). Rates for July 4th week typically increase by 70-100%, and sold-out conditions are common at major chains. Compare flexible versus advance purchase rates when booking.
- Resort or service fees usually range from $15 to $30 per night and may not appear in initial price quotes. Before confirming your reservation, review the total price breakdown carefully to ensure the final cost fits your budget.
- Hotels located between 20th and 30th Streets are a 2 to 4 minute walk from the boardwalk and average $149 to $199 per night in high season, which is typically 25% less than oceanfront properties. For efficient access to attractions without premium prices, check these listings.
- Prioritize hotels that guarantee onsite parking in summer, as municipal lots and metered spaces near the boardwalk fill by 10:00. Onsite parking can save you 15 to 45 minutes searching for a spot. Always verify parking conditions and any additional costs before booking.
- If you plan to work remotely, confirm your hotel’s Wi-Fi speeds in advance. Many older properties in Ocean City offer less than 25 Mbps, while newer brands such as Hampton Inn or Residence Inn typically provide 65 Mbps or higher, supporting video calls and downloads.
- Accessible and step-free options are limited: 78% of motels built before 1990 lack elevators, and only 12 Ocean City hotels offer accessible rooms with roll-in showers. If you require step-free or ADA-compliant features, request confirmation before booking.
- Ocean City is a dry town; alcohol sales and consumption are not permitted within city limits, and hotels cannot serve alcohol. Bringing in alcohol purchased elsewhere is also restricted, so plan accordingly and explore local non-alcoholic dining options.
- Beach tags are required for anyone age 12 and over on Ocean City beaches. Daily passes cost $10 to $20 or $40 to $70 for a seasonal pass. Some hotels include beach tags with your stay; verify this when booking to avoid additional charges.
- Decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) at hotel front desks to save 3-5% on your bill, as accepting DCC often leads to a 4-7% surcharge. Always choose to pay in USD and let your bank handle currency conversion.
- The Ocean City Boardwalk Tram operates from 5th to 27th Streets at $3.50 per ride or $10 for a day pass, making it a convenient option for guests with limited walking ability. Check tram schedules for evening return trips, especially later in the season.
- Skipping daily housekeeping during July and August drought weeks helps local conservation efforts. Most properties participate in a 20% water reduction plan, and each missed linen change saves about 40 gallons per room per day. Ask the front desk to adjust your housekeeping schedule at check-in if you wish to participate.
- Joining the Ocean City Chamber’s Lodging Pass program at select hotels such as The Shore or Caribbean by the Sea provides up to 25% off attraction tickets. Confirm eligible properties before booking and ask at check-in how to access these savings.
