I liked room 202. It's quiet and off in the corner of the hotel. I appreciate the coffee and hot water for tea because I'm big on hydrating in the morning time.
They remembered me from 2 years ago, or Stella the dog. Love the larger TVs and Rosatti's just down the street

We had issues with the water temperature. I brought this to the hotel managers attention and she had excellent customer service and you could tell that she truly cared about the issue. The Hyatt is lucky to have somebody like her!

It was very close to the convention center that my daughter had her dance competition in. Made it very convenient. The rooms came fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans, stove and fulll sized fridge.
The hotel is in a great location to shopping and restaurants. This was the only hotel with the room/suite option of two actual bedrooms with 2 bathrooms and a seating and kitchen area.

The only thing I like about this hotel is that check-out time is at 12:00pm (noon) whereas every other hotel I can think of wants their guests out by 11:00am.

Top Tips
- Book hotels 21-30 days before your stay for 12-18% lower rates. Many major hotel chains in Schaumburg support advance booking through their loyalty apps, which can help you access these savings easily.
- Confirm nightly charges to avoid resort fees at non-resort properties. Seven of twelve full-service hotels in Schaumburg might add $15-$25 to your bill as 'destination' or 'resort' fees, even when amenities like pools or spas are not included.
- Select hotels along Roselle Road for an 18-22 minute transfer to O'Hare via free shuttle. Properties between IL-72 and Higgins Road with shuttle service are significantly faster than public transit options, which average 42 minutes - always verify real-time shuttle hours with your hotel as schedules may vary.
- Request rooms facing away from I-90 for a 10-15 dB noise reduction. West and south-facing rooms near I-90 can exceed 55 dB at night, while rear-facing rooms average a quieter 40-45 dB; most major chains allow orientation requests at booking and light sleepers may benefit from sound machine apps.
- Use the onsite EV charging at Renaissance Schaumburg, which is free and has J1772 connectors. Tesla and non-Tesla electric vehicles can charge at no cost using the hotel’s dual J1772 ports, adding about 20 miles of range in 30 minutes; charging bays may be limited at peak times, so confirm availability before arrival.
- Decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) at check-in if using foreign cards. DCC markups can add 4-7% over the base exchange rate, so always choose to pay in USD to avoid extra charges; top hotel brands allow you to choose your billing currency at check-in or a payment kiosk, so confirm the option before paying.
- Prioritize hotels with meeting space if attending trade shows at the Convention Center. Attendees at Schaumburg Convention Center events can get 15-25% room rate discounts at connected or partner hotels like Hyatt or DoubleTree; proof of event registration may be required for discounted rates, so confirm when booking.
- Check step-free access at properties built before 2000, as about 40% may lack elevators or have single-step entries. Newer hotels constructed after 2010 are 100% step-free accessible; guests with mobility needs should confirm accessible features in advance, and brands like Hilton and Marriott list detailed accessibility features on their websites.
- Expect 85-120 Mbps Wi-Fi, but avoid video calls between 7-9 PM local time due to congestion. Off-peak speeds average 110 Mbps, but evenings can drop to 50-65 Mbps at chain hotels; if you need reliable evening connectivity, check for upgraded Wi-Fi or business center access.
- Skip bottled water, as tap water meets EPA standards for fluoride and safety. The Village of Schaumburg’s 2023 water quality reports confirm compliance, and most major hotels can provide filtered water stations in public areas.
- Tip housekeeping $2-$5 per night, leaving it daily in an envelope. Local service norms in Schaumburg differ from Chicago, with daily tipping expected for multi-night stays; many hotels provide tipping envelopes or instructions in guest rooms.
- Verify if your hotel includes access to Spring Valley Nature Center trails. Three hotels, including Drury Inn & Suites, offer trail passes; others require a 10-minute walk or shuttle request to reach the 135-acre preserve, so confirm trail pass availability at check-in.
