Hotel Guest Reviews of the Strawberry Lodge

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location and close to river
Condition of hotel. Lack of staff. Overpriced.

The staff is friendly and hotel has a great location for me. Great history and nearby hiking/sightseeing.
The room did not cool down (even with window wide open) until very late into night. Shared bathroom with single commode and shower may delay your plans waiting for it to become available.

The location was pretty.
Horrible, room was not ready at check in, once ready, reeked of bleach. Somehow still dirty. Bed was disgusting, plaster falling off the walls, lamp broken, horrid bright light outside all night, curtains did nothing to block. Don't waste your money

Location. Close to ski resort.
Rooms were run down. Outlets didn't work. There were punks outside cussing and being loud. Had to move to another room. One night we came back after 10pm, and we were locked out. They forgot to tell us they have shutdown after 10pm.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. The is the closest lodging to Sierra-at-Tahoe resort. That's really the only reason to stay here. The main building dates to 1940 and has a lot of potential to be a quaint, rustic mountain lodge. Lots of clean white towels.
Right on Hwy 50 with lots of traffic noise. Room was pretty dirty: there was a dirty towel in the shower and various bits if litter under the beds. Extra comforters were piled on floor of closet. Thins walls/windows.

They accept dogs and it is close to a lot of hiking trails.

It's still an old fashioned lodge. Cozy, modest, and intamite. The staff makes you like familiar friends even on first visit.
It's a little drafty. And the dinner service was alittle overwhelmed even with just a few tables. Probaby just due to understaffing.

I really enjoyed the owner of this lodge. He was also our bartender for the night. I love the atmosphere. This time was my second time staying there and I will definitely be back.

Its old and quaint.
1. Understaffed. The owner and one couple did everything 2. Rooms we were put in were unacceptable. No heating, noisy, very basic bedding. Sink enamel was eroded, ceiling needed paint. 3. Restaurant food was below average.

It was cozy and I loved the downstairs area, shower, and bedroom itself.
There was no indication that the bathroom would be down the hall, and though they promised wifi, we had none for the entirety of our stay. Plus the staff were old and crotchety, not very nice people.
