Open Gate

Front desk was really helpful, last minute made sure we got a boat excursion to Capri and even drove us to the stop. Great breakfast super filling! Parking, on main road, close to the beach, bus stops right in front of hotel. Seriously they are underrated

Need better beds and I don't like any toiletries that are an all in one do some conditioner and separate body wash and shampoo would be nice but no biggie.

Delightful/helpful family owners, central location, relaxed "beachy" feel to the room (tile floors and sparse mis-matched furniture), large private terrace overlooking the sea (room 29), on-site parking and excellent restaurant.

I was fraudulently charged 3,500 euro for a door that they repaired and didn’t provide me with any invoice evidence.

Just a great little hotel, ran by a lovely local family, clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Nice views from rooms, great parking right outside, restaurant downstairs is convenient and good and the location is well positioned on the main road between Positano and Amalfi in Praiano.

Nothing all was good.

The room was clean and my view was fantastic. The hosts were absolutely amazing. I would’ve stayed an extra night if they had vacancy the next night. The food in the restaurant was amazing and my lasagna dinner was one of my best meals of the trip.

The staff is wonderful. They greeted us like family. The food and wine were absolutely delicious. The rooms were spacious and Immaculate. The view is stunning. We have stayed here numerous times and will even plan our trip around the dates Open Gate is available. There's even a bus stop right at the hotel that takes you to Positano.

That we had to leave.

Beautiful room and view from the terrace, we always appreciate parking. A shuttle (not the Sita bus) stops at their hotel to get to positano which is bonus and a sita stop is near by. We used both depending on timing. we enjoyed our dinner at the hotel as well. Walkable to marina de Praia for a swim.

The best stay we had on our entire trip to Italy! The room was extremely clean, bed was comfortable, AC worked great and the terrace was very nice to sit out on in the evenings. Pascal was the most friendly host you could ever ask for. He helped us with bus stops, restaurants, laundry service, and even gave me bug spray for the mosquitos. He made our experience at Open Gate very personalized and special. I would stay there again!!

I will say, the seafood medley dish we ordered did not sit well with my tummy…Other than that, the wine was good at dinner.

Great location. You stay in the middle of Amalfi and Positano so it is easy to visit these towns. The hotel is beautiful and clean. Our room has a direct view to the sea. The staff are very helpful.

Excellent location. Staff were very friendly and helpful with using the local bus system. The breakfast was delicious as well as the food at the restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again and recommend to those we know.

Pasquale was very welcoming . The entire staff was. We had dinner one night there . The food was excellent. The room was clean , beautiful and the facilities are also beautiful.

All was great

The overall aspect of the hotel, the decoration, the details inside and outside are very well thought of.The view from the rooms is breathtaking, the bathrooms are very clean. The hotel looks newly refurbished with very good taste. The location was very convenient as the bus stop is right outside the hotel.The breakfast was indeed continental, with fresh fruits from the garden.They were thoughtful enough to provide us with mosquito repellent in the room.The staff was very friendly and approachable but yet very professional.

The fact that our room was on the second floor but there was no elevator (although they help with carrying the bags upstairs). There was no kettle inside the room for tea or coffee.The rooms rates are a bit pricey.

Everything was good. Nice apartment, great view, staff was great and there as a beach a few meters away. Location is a plus as well. Easy access to Poslitano, Amalfi and all other main cities.

Open gate is in an area of the Amalfi Coast that is not filled with tourists. It is a family run hotel, and has been in the family for 55 years. Pasquale , Stephania and the entire family made you feel like you were family. The food in their restaurant was delicious and breakfast was included in your stay. They were very helpful with advice to get around the coast

Just needed a little more storage in the rooms

The view was spectacular and we sat at the tables close to the view to enjoy it to the fullest! Rooms were good sized with modern bathrooms and everything was very clean. The breakfast buffet was copious with lots of choices. Dinner at the restaurant was fresh and delicious. The staff were quite friendly and could speak multiple languages. Parking was free!

The only thing we didn't like was that the hotel is on the main coastal road and up until about 10pm, there were loud cars and motorcycles going by which made conversation difficult when sitting at the restaurant. It's the only road that goes from town to town so there is nothing that the hotel could do about it. The views more than made up for the intermittant noise!

The room was beautiful and the terrace overlooking the water was so incredible! We loved the cozy feel of the room and enjoying the view in the morning. Absolutely loved staying here and plan to return on our next trip. The staff were so lovely. Make sure to dine at their fabulous restaurant too! The seafood pasta and homemade gnocchi were our favorites.
