Hôtel Restaurant Famille Bourgeois "La Cote des Monts Damnés"

The hotel was cozy, our accommodations were spacious, very comfortable bed. The food was delicious & the staff was so friendly!

The young woman at the front desk and all of the employees were so welcoming and accommodating. Facilities inside the historic building are more modern than in many French hotels, including an elevator, king-size bed, and large sleeping area and bathroom. Surrounded by vineyards in rolling terrain where Sancerre wines are made, we loved that the same family owns the hotel, restaurant, and Henri Bourgeoise winemaking enterprise. So nice to be able to dine in the superb on-site restaurant and walk up an adjacent hill for a guided tour/tasting. Highly recommend doing it all!

Absolutely nothing.

We had dinner in the gourmet restaurant attached to the hotel. Each of the 5 courses was excellent and beautifully prepared, thoroughly professional and friendly. A genial atmosphere. The restaurant was full, (book in advance). Lovely to find a restaurant of such a high standard is a small village.The hotel room was equally good and comfortable. We had a large room, with fridge and kettle.

No dedicated parking but easy to find close by.

Friendly staff, quick response for my inquiries which made me relieved. Great food together with their related fine Sancerre wine selections. Visited their winery, Famille Bourgeois, next morning, that’s also a great experience. Very warm-hearted welcome.

Bedroom was good. But some of lights didn’t work and taps in bathroom made a loud screeching sound. Staff seemed to think this was ok.

Some staff were rather abrupt. Dinner was disappointing as one course wasn’t available. We found the food rather salty.

Samantha at the front desk was delightful, positive and very helpful during our visit. The property is located in the charming village very near Sancerre village. You must visit the winery and taste the Famille Bourgeois wines just a short walk up the street. The breakfast was enjoyable with standard options which meet our needs well. The staff member who manages the breakfast works hard to have all the tables properly set up for each guest. We recommend you inquire about the protocol if you need an extra plate, coffee mug or silverware, none of which are provided next to the buffet table area. Also, come early if you drink brewed Americano coffee, when it runs out, you will only have the option of the expresso machine, which was fine for us, but not everyone may want this choice. The property offers a pre booked dinner service which was very nice for our first night arrival. All the staff were professional and helpful to us, and we enjoyed our stay very much. We had the top floor room overlooking the central square with a fountain in the center of the roundabout. We could also view the surrounding slopes of some of the vineyards on the hillside. The small village was very charming and quite.

The pillows could have been a little firmer for our preference, but the bed was very comfortable.

The hotel met and exceeded our expectations. Everything relating to our stay was very good. The restaurant however was exceptional. Excellent food excellent friendly and efficient service. Best food we’ve had in some time.

The lack of car parking was a slight issue.

Comfortable, great restaurant in the hotel, close to the main vineyards, formagerie just opposite.

Fantastic place with marvellous environment in the centre of Sancerre area. Very good food for dinner. Service oriented personal.

The breakfast was good although it was a little bit limited in terms of alternatives. I also miss the opportunity of la carte for the dinner. It was only possible to choose between three types of full menues.

The location was lovely. Just out of Sancerre, in a small village with plenty of wine tasting houses within walking distance. Our room was triple aspect with lovely views over the vineyards. The restaurant is expensive, but the food was really lovely. It was fully booked which is always a good sign. Breakfast was included which was good, but it didn't offer the range of foods we have had in other hotels. There isn't any parking at the hotel, bit there was plenty of parking in the village.

Nothing to dislike!

Plenty of space in our suite. A very comfortable bed and excellent shower.The staff were excellent. Samantha at reception was so helpful.Fantastic restaurant with a great atmosphere.Superb wines as you'd expect.

The town/village is beautiful, as is the whole region. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. The room was large and well equipped. A very positive experience.

The hotel is in a valley that has bad cellular reception. It was fine inside the hotel, but outside the was no reception.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a good choice of breakfast items. Comfy beds, huge rooms with plenty of space. We were on a wine tour so found the hotel to be excellent and having their own wine tasting and cellar in the centre of the region. We all had a very enjoyable stay.

It rained a lot but that couldn't be helped !

The service was exceptional. We were close to Sancerre and the Chateau. There are many opportunities for wine tasting.

Position and room 10 had great views.

Breakfast a bit pricy at €15 for a yogurt, a coffee, a juice and a roll! Restaurant meno could do with more choices

We have stayed here many times over the years ,perfect for a few day visiting the wineries of the region The staff are welcoming and friendly especially Samantha the New receptionist and the waiters in the restaurant A very pleasant stay

A couple of things we didn’t think the breakfast was good value and not up to standard of the establishment, would like a freshly made pot of coffee for the table, not a pot shared by the whole room and 2 small pats of butter not adequate We had the discovery menu the first night and it was delicious as normal but we had the Signature menu the second night night unfortunately a couple of the dishes were disappointing,our Veal was extremely tough and sinewy very hard to cut and the dessert an Apple and dill Macaroon was not well balanced and the dill killed the taste of the apple

The crew was nice, the room was big and lovely.They notified us before that the restaurant is full for dinner, and make sure we order somewhere else.

For me the water pressure wasn't good enough. And in the morning too much light enter the room, i covered the windows, but it wasn't perfect.
