Breakfast was good and staff were very good

On checking in at 5.30 were told restaurant was full. But was told we could eat in the bar if we were lucky because they were busy that night . So we sat in the bar . And a couple sat across from us ordered food. I ask could he take our order and we were told we could not as the people were locals and he have to ask the manager first . So I reminded him we paid 195 euro to stay here and should be able to order where we were sitting . So he eventually agreed to let us. It was very embarrassing . And I still don't understand what the problem was

I looked for an accessible room by e-mail after booking. I was allocated one by return e-mail, without any fuss. The room was as requested when I checked in, no confusion as I've experienced elsewhere.Ample free parking in hotel grounds.Staff were friendly & efficient.Bar food was nice & service there was good. Drinks are quite expensive here!

I thought €130 for room only in January was quite steep. I paid €88 in Galway city the night before!Plug in heater in my room, which I did need during the night. I fail to see how this makes any economic sense.

How close it is to the town

The room was too warm even with the window open, the shower was extremely hot, there was no iron and iron board facility in the room. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The furniture appeared marked. I was not satisfied for the money I paid

Amazing location great staff food and facilities

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. When we were leaving early in the morning on our last day, the made us breakfast bags when asked which were really generous and delicious. Rooms very spacious, clean and well appointed.

The Anner is a lovely hotel. Our room was nice a spacious with a real window you could open, extremely clean. Food was excellent. Staff were helpful, friendly. Great facilities.

The walk into town is around 10-15 minutes. Some of the older people in our group didn’t want that so you need to plan ahead.

Pillows was only negative but other than that good

The hotel is very clean and the staff in general where very helpful and friendly. The room was spotless and the choice of breakfast for someone with a gluten allergy was great. The reception staff were very helpful in getting a car that was parked at an EV charging point but not using it moved so I could use it to charge my car. A very welcomed addition.

My evening meal was really disappointing. I ordered the salmon with baby potatoes and veg in a garlic butter. What i got was a meal sitting in a pool of oil. Very disappointing. I informed the waiting staff and although I got a slight discount on my meal there was no feedback from the chef or acknowledgement it wasn't up to standard.

Last minute booking and hotel met all expectations. Food was good and room comfortable, clean and overall great stay

Very comfortable hotel with lovely friendly staff. (The young Barman from Ashford was particularly pleasant)

Found the Foyer a bit chilly on the first night however when I mentioned this to the receptionist she brought out an electric oil fired heater so we could sit comfortably. All was perfect after that and the temperature was perfect on subsequent days - well done!

Breakfast was good except, I tried to order omelette without mushrooms or onions but with tomatoes instead, I was refused.Staff were nice, good selection

The hotel itself was fine. Pool was gorgeous. Staff very nice. Location handy and while I didn't drive looked to be good parking available.

I thought it was a bit noisy in the room both from the bar area outside our window and we could hear the people next door quite loudly. Neither my partner or I had a great night sleep. This might not be in every room as we were in a sort of corner room but was a pity. It is an old hotel though I think so not sure if much can be done but worth noting.

Overall ambience good. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rooms were nice as was the bathroom.

Gorgeous and large room with very good room service. Is a jewel in Thurles. I will be back.

Clean, comfortable, staff very helpful and pleasant.

The staff were amazing. A couple of little glitches but they sorted them straight away. Room was incredibly cold upon arrival and heating would not work properly but hotel manager fixed it immediately upon notification. Also well equipped gym but was locked when should be open and batteries were out on one of the machines. Again maintenance man fixed it immediately.

Very little tbh. Vegetarian choice on menu a bit limited so we ate elsewhere but breakfast was great and again staff so diligent and friendly.
