Utstein Kloster Hotell

Wonderful location, staff and great breakfast. Didn't get to use the sauna because of lack of time but its very nice.

The hotel and surroundings were beautiful.

The room was too hot during the night wven with the window open. Also the toilet was sometimes stuck and kept flushing randomly. A long flush seemed to get rid of it briefly. What wasn’t great is that it wasn’t communicated with us there was a cleaning fee for bringing our dog. So this came as a surprise at check out. Also when going to the restaurant we were told our dog wasn’t allowed anywhere inside the hotel except our room. This was strange as when we checked in this was no problem at all and we sat in the hotel with him waiting for check in with several staff members being happy to see him. It felt quite rude because of this and we decided to eat somewhere else.

Location is remote but good for visit to nearby nice monastery. 25 min to Stavanger. Hotel atmosphere is relaxing. Small breakfast but good local produce.

We booked a twin room, and the room was tiny with an uncomfortable small bathroom, more suitable as a single room, and a disappointement compared to the expectations from photos when booking. We did not get Sea View as requested but facing the fields behind, where the farmers had spread fresh cow manure on (!). The smell! We had a feeling that booking through Booking.com is a disadvantage compared to direct bookings.

The view, the quiet and small distance from Stavanger, is only 25 minutes.

The restaurant menu lacks choices, only one dish of beef tenderloin and one cod fish dish both with a bed of veggies.One beef burger and chips, salad, fish soup and dessert and expensive for the quantity.The service table isn't great and they make different mistakes, of course we didn't go to the Shangri-la hotel but a simple basic table service was a good thing to do.

Charming location, lovely restaurant, and sufficient breakfast

Really beautiful hotel in a stunning location! Staff was very friendly and helpful! Breakfast was great with a variety of options. Wish we stayed here longer as it is really nice location if you want nature. Parking at the hotel was also free.

Rooms were a bit warm as there is no aircon or fan. Room size is also not the biggest but still good.

For us the Utstein Kloster Hotell was a special experience. Lots of smiling and accommodating staff, interesting art, beautiful view, and our room was well appointed and peaceful. We had a delicious dinner there. We hope to come back soon!

The location of the hotel is just perfect! The lake view rooms are just perfect to wake up to in the morning, the food at the hotel is scrumptious!
