Koulas Pension - Red Lake

This is an outstanding hotel for it's price point. Beautiful location. Helpful and friendly staff. Close to the beach. Lovely cafe on the premises. Pool that overlooks the ocean. A little slice of paradise.

The staff is very hospitable. The location was fantastic and it’s very, very clean.

Wow! Highly recommended hotel, because of the location and the staff! Perfect location when visiting Naxos for 1 week. The pool is great, amazing view over the sea / coast line, super staff: very friendly, helping you with everything, explaining things, suggesting trips, etc etc etc!. It's close to restaurants and to the beach. And by car it's just 10min to Naxos town (must visit). Tip: Climb the Mount of Zeus when visiting Naxos if you're up for a bit of hiking (by car, park at Agia Marina chuch, it's 1h up the mountain from trere. Or just ask Sofia of the staff for details). (But bring proper shoes, and go early)

Maybe the rooms are a bit outdated / no shower curtain, and there were some ants sneaking around. But still, the rooms are properly cleaned every day. So for me the "likes" definitely outweighed these minor points.

The staff and the owners are very friendly and nice people. They find solutions to all your questions and it makes you feel at home. The rooms are cleaned every day. The sea and lake view is perfect. You can have your dinner watching the sunset. Bus stop is very close and this makes it easy to reach Naxos town. You can walk to Agios Prokopios beach easily. This fits to all our expectations. Koulas Pension was really a good choice and we are quite satisfied with our stay.

The wifi was weak sometimes. But it’s a common problem.

Sophia and the rest of the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, they are all so friendly it has a great family feel, they handed out complimentary snacks with drinks which was kind.Sophia helped us with hiring a vehicle, gave recommendations and arranged a taxi for pick up for the port. The rooms are cleaned every day and you are given clean towels. The location is perfect, you are 5 mins walk to the beach, which leads to many beach bars, restaurants, super markets and shops. My husband also went scuba diving here and we are able to hire a scooter at a very reasonable price of €25 per day. Naxos main town is 15 drive away, there's buses, taxis or your own transport, parking is free. The accommodation is great value for money and you will have a very enjoyable stay without paying extortionate prices.

We really enjoyed our stay here and there is nothing we were unhappy with.

Great stay at Koulas Pension Red Lake July 2024. The room was really clean and comfortable and in a fabulous location on Naxos. The food at the bar area was really lovely and great value for money. Sophie and her family were all really lovely hosts and went out of their way to ensure we had a lovely stay - nothing was too much trouble from organising car hire and recommending places to visit, wonderful restaurant recommendations and helping us with a hospital visit, everything was perfect. Would 100% stay here again. Thank you for the memories.

Everything!!!The pension is run run by a charming, kind and welcoming local family. Sofia ,Anna and amazing Koula were so kind and helpful and friendly and made us feel comfortable . The sea view is spectacular and the pool is amazing and the rooms are co clean and the rooms are cozy. The location is great and close to the beach. I hope to come back again:)

Everything was excellent!

A friendly welcome, lovely room over looking both pool and sea.Sofia was extremely helpful with advise about the island.Room was clean and spacious.A nice short walk into the town for plenty of restaurants and the beach.The family clearly work very hard running the hotel.We got the bus from Naxos town €2 and then asked it to stop at Lagos Mare from there just a 5 mins walk to the hotel.

We loved the location; beautiful views and easy to walk in to town. We rented a car because we wanted to see the rest of the island, but if you're staying local you don't need to. The staff made us all feel completely welcome and at home, nothing was too much trouble. The apartment (4 bed) was immaculately clean. It was basic accommodation, but had everything we needed. The pool was brilliant. We would definitely recommend staying here for a laid back holiday.

The location is outside the center and therefore very calm. The view from the apartment is great: you can see the coast and the sea. There is a direct path to the beach nearby. But you need to be aware that it takes some time to walk down to the beach (-I needed about 7-8 min from my room.)The hotel itsself is quite pretty from outside. It is a very nice place.The bus stop is in about 5 min walk.

The fridge in my room was very noisy. Every few minutes it made a sound like a motorcycle. It was really difficult to sleep at night. The walls are very thin, thus you could hear everything from the neighbours: When they used the toilets, the shower, the TV, their mobile phones...The beds are quite hard. I have rented a studio. In this case windows from the neighbor`s room (window from their bathroom for example) were leading to my balcony. The bathroom smell coming from this window was not always nice.

Everything was more than great. Perfect sea view, swiming pool great. Rooms very clean. Greek lady and whole familly was very nice, friendly and alwaus helpful. Sure i come back.??

It’s a family place where we felt like home. Room was cleaned everyday, we have got help from the owners with planning our trips, choosing restaurant. They even borrow us their stroller because our was missing. Red Lake is located close to the nice beach, and restaurants, we enjoy the every moment there.

The Pension is a family run business and as such is their livelihood you can tell too...they took great care of us and we were made to feel welcome. They were cheerful and helpful throughout.The sea views from our room and pool were fab and sunsets over Paros were dreamlike.

Internet wasn't great but that's not their fault.

We were welcomed by kuria Koula with a glass of orange juice and a nice orange cake. Koulas homemade plate of tuna pasta was tasty and felt like home. Everyone was lovely and ready to help us whenever needed. Swimming pool was perfect and facing the sunset !! Room was clean and tidy, with towels changed daily.

The wifi wasn’t functioning properly sometimes.

Very friendly and helpful, lovely family that went beyond expectations. The location with the swimming pool and view were excellent.

Red Lake is absolutely amazing. The location is beautiful and the hospitality is fantastic. The family are so welcoming and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. It's simple idyllic and extremely relaxing, We will definitely be returning. Thank you Red Lake for our very special time in Naxos.

The icecreams, the cakes that Koula made for us, the pool, the sunsets, the amazing beach. All your kindness. We love Naxos and we love you! The hotel is about 3min walks from the beach and about 5min walks from the mainstreet in Agios Prokopios.Everything is kept very clean. You will love it here.
