    • Dining
    • Very clean

    Cons -

    • They do not take food allergies seriously at all! Every time you walk into a restaurant, the hostess will ask your allergies as will your server. Yet I was served allergens at dinner three consecutive nights.
    • Staff was rude and unhelpful. Food was mediocre. It was overcrowded. Definitely don?t recommend
    • How difficult it was to make reservations at restaurants.

My family and I enjoyed our stay

I didn't like the limited choices at the bar. The bar staff were friendly but overall non accommodating with top chef choices. Very disappointing!

The property was clean, the staff was quite friendly. The beaches were nice, the pools, there were plenty, all amazing. Every restaurant we went to had great food.

It was a little overwhelming. It’s a huge property, but you do have access to golf cart transportation provided by the resort, on the resort. Also, our butlers did text us daily, but were unable to accommodate any of our requests. We asked about changing reservation times and getting a reservation. We also requested our pillow choices and room aromatherapy choices and never received them. And we never heard from our afternoon/evening butler.

I don’t want to hear one bad review about this place. I have not one bad thing to say. The staff goes above and beyond, they are kind, friendly and very helpful. The rooms are so clean, the property is being constantly maintained. The beach is not the best, not very swimmable (there’s manmade sand bars in them for protection I presume), but that isn’t their fault it’s the location. Around the bend the waters are just different. Do your research if you want clear turquoise, it’s a different area. But the sand is well maintained and laying on the beach is still beautiful. They are serious about the adult pools, they will kick out anyone who isn’t of age. Which I actually appreciate even though I went with my teens. Is the food top tier? Not really but if you stick to Mexican it’s delicious. They are trying to satisfy tastes from all over the world. So be respectful and open minded and find something you like. Make your reservations for dinner as soon as you arrive or you will be eating buffet every night (which I didn’t mind). Overall I’m super happy with the time we spent there. Wendy was ace in helping us set up excursions. And Freddy didn’t even hesitate when we booked the wrong building away from our friends, to get us to the right spot. Great people. Great time.

There was a lot of mosquitos in my room that I couldn’t figure out how they were getting in. I was on the first floor on the ocean so I guess there’s a lot there at night. Bring bug spray it will cost a fortune at the resort. Again, not the resorts fault. It’s the jungle, there’s going to be mosquitos.

Nice, secluded location, surrounded by wetlands with lots of wild nature. In many places around the resort you can find plates with the pictures and names of animals you may come across. On the opposite side of the road are the older hotels belonging to the Ventus resort, what includes number of restaurants, bars, swimming pools and the beach. Very nice little town - Puerto Morelos along with a nice public beach is located a few minutes of drive from the resort (the beach of the nearby Ventus resorts has been affected by some storms and lacks a bit of charm... and sand).

Apartments in the basement have very little access to daylight, due to upper floor balconies along with very lush vegetation that shades the terrace & windows. Definitely higher floors should be more convenient in that matter.

The property is a tropical rainforest with a Mayan Ruin feel and I call it my new Zen Jungle property for its incredible exotic spa smells throughout the waterfall garden and every room has a hamack to swing and take in the beauty of the relaxed atmosphere and tropics that surround you. The sunset on the 6th floor rooftop is breathtaking as you look at the stars and wade in the rooftop infinity pools while relaxing with a cool cocktail from the RUFF mixology bar. You can also gaze at the stars and moon through the telescopes that are perched on the rooftop as well. They also have private cabanas or group coach seating to enjoy conversations with friends. This is the new sister property to the El Cid Ventus and El Cid Marina so you will be enjoying ALL 3 properties and each property is in walking distance from each other. El Cid Properties in Riviera Maya Quintaroo are the very best and an mandatory must stay every year for us!! We were there Xmas Day and also celebrated New Year's Eve and was supposed to return New Year's Day but as fate would have it our Delta flight was canceled for 2 days and luckily Booking.com had an online only booking deal at the Ventus Ha with only 2 rooms left we were able to nab on of them and enjoyed another 2 days with great couples we met while there. Despite the travel delays and going from a non-stop flight to a connecting flight to ATL with a 3 hour layover and then home to DTW. I would not have changed anything at all. The entertainment each night and themed parties were phenomenal!! Michael Jackson impersonator, Elvis Presely, Mayan Show, and please don't miss the Fire Show!! I can write a book on how much I just love El Cid Riviera Maya!! Just Go!! You will not regret it??????????⛱️?????

    ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!
