Uravu Bamboo Grove Resort

It is a fantastic space in the middle of a dense bamboo forest. It is a little inward from the main road. However it is very cozy and worth all of it. The rooms, the bathroom, the surrounding everything is fabulous.

The surrounding area can be a little off during the night as sometimes the network can behave funnily.

Scary - we were alone in the property with no security and not even a staff member , CCTV and fencing No intercom facilities Not accessible to vehicles, ( should be parked far away and has to walk to property)no proper lighting in the property surrounding, thus high risk of snake bites , trips and falls due to uneven pavement Open shower room , but scary at night to have shower and unsafe in rooms as no security in the property surrounding.Nil wifi serviceThere is a closed quarry surrounding with water ( no proper lighting , fence and cleaning) Unsafe parking for vehicles as far away from property .Surrounding of accommodation not well maintained Property has only one fan so was very hotNil activities , not even a television.

I booked but didnt stay there as when we reached there there were no one in the property. Later one care taker came and informed that we are the only guest there on that day.

No sign board to reach there and google map also doesnt help to reach there.

Hands down, the most incredible stay I've ever had. ? This is exactly why I'll write a bit more detailed on here. It is *such* a unique place, surrounded by and set in nature, virtually everything here was handcrafted with lots of knowledge, an eye for detail and experience. And lots of bamboo, of course! There are three or four cabins spread across the areal, all close to an open dining area, where the kitchen and plenty of places to eat and rest are located as well as a little lake. There are opportunities to request the resort as an area for yoga workshops, exhibitions, cooking events or other activities.My bungalow featured an amazing outdoor bathroom (with a hot water shower), comfy living/sleeping space, a terrace with view into the mountainous forest and even a small balcony. Insects are kept outside through incense sticks, which worked great (i got no bites). authentic Keralan breakfast and affordable dinner was served with lots of love by two kind men working at the resort. The manager is very nice, available and helpful himself.Everything is kept constantly clean and hygienic, and the kitchen features an excellent water filtering system with a seperate tank. I was staying here in early October to do artistic research in a 2-day bamboo workshop over at the Uravu centre/nursery, which is connected to this place and in walkable distance (15-20min). Its a Must to at least give them a visit.It is a great season to explore the whole Wayanad area, which is set between 1000m and 2000m in the west ghats, hence it has a very enjoyable climate and air. Plenty of rice, coconuts, bananas, coffee, tea,.. are grown close by, and bird watching sites as well as a wildlife sanctuary are near. Don't forget you are in the mid of the rural tropics - be prepared, informed and talk to locals when going into the bushes!Autorikshaws are found nearby and can be ordered to pick you up.

Area was good and staff behavior is excellent

Not worth and not clean ,night stay is very bad ,light set up and arrangement is not good

It's a beautiful stay, the rooms were well maintained. The host also helped us with arranging travel options for us to move around. The food was decent homely food.

Room was so spacious .Very Nice property.we had great time.Food was so yummy. They arranged candel light dinner for our special occasion. That arrangement was superb.we loved the property. Everything was great.

Kitchen service is not adequate. Food ordered was average as they had to order from outer restaurant

It was a quaint and non-intrusive place that actually looks as shown in the images. The room (cottage) was spacious and had 2 balconies. The place looks stunning when it rains!The hosts were warm and courteous and had given us suggestions on places to visit and food to try.Their effort towards supporting the surrounding community is endearing. We were able to contribute to this effort by ordering food and by visiting the bamboo workshop nearby. The dinner we had from one of their community families was fantastic!The caretaker, Jobish, supported us throughout the stay and always with a smile. Thank you so much Jobi :)

Some parts of the rooms had cobwebs. The lack of a mirror / dressing table in the room was a minor inconvenience.

Such an amazing property. Love the location. Loved the food. Special thanks to the host . Very nice human being he is. Really like the hospitality he provided.Keep it up!!!

The space was really great. Great food and ambiance totally worth

Outside the balcony there were lots of plastic waste . It will better if you don’t promote throwing waste in the premises Save nature

The serenity is commendable. Staff, locality and neighborhood people are very kind, knowledgeable and respectful.

There is no vehicle rental nearby. I would suggest people to get down at Kalpeta, immediately rent a vehicle and drive to the resort. Otherwise, you will have to come back to Kalpeta again for renting.

It's really good place for family and couple and best part is the person who take care the hole property and even he helped in celebrating birthday it was really awesome

- Friendly, helpful hosts- The resort is simply beautiful- Great food- Environmentaly friendly/ sustainable ( Drinking water from the tab, Jobs to people from the village, bamboo growing on former rock mining site)- Quiet and closeness to nature

Property location was good and facilities was good one thing missing is AC as Kerala humid weather needed that and staff were friendly and good service

Beds made noise due to made from bamboo and air conditioning was not there

The pleasantness of the location where this property is situated, it exceeded my expectations. I completely enjoyed every minute I have stayed here....Food, ambience and facilities available were excellent. Well spent my 2 nights stay here.

Maybe the pathway to the entrance of the resort, could be a little wider, only a small car will come without hassle, A bigger SUV will get scratches for sure.

Nature at its best. A very peaceful place to relax and unwind yourself. Great for bird watching. Staff is very helpful and food was amazing.

Went on a trip with my partner right after we got married, and we couldn't have asked for anything more. The location is non-touristy and is an ideal place if you are looking for a tranquil vacation to relax. Joby, the manager of the restaurant took care of everything and was extremely prompt with the service. The breakfast was authentic and delicious. The rooms were clean, airy and comfortable, my favourite bit was the view and the location itself. There is ample space for parking, and one can enjoy different scenic views on the property itself.
