Lake n River Resort Munroe Island

I only thing we like it’s location,Other than that it’s worthless

Not properly maintained,Pond in middle was dirty,Rooms and facilities are full of ants and insects,Rooms were not even maintained…We got stung by something like bee and we got rashes over body ..

The location of the hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff helped us to arrange two boat rides - one a shakira (covered boat)and one on an canoe (similar to a small punt in the UK). The staff were very pleasant - especially the reception and restaurant staff.

The choice at the buffet breakfast and dinner was very limited. The lunch we had, however, (ordered a la carte ) was very good.The room was quite basic in terms of facilities, and the bed had hard pillows and mattress - so two nights sleeping there was enough. There is a nice small pool - with just two sun loungers (no cushions). The hotel could be beautiful - and more comfortable - with a bit more investment by its owner.

Great location by the beautiful backwaters, the pool was nice to relax in after an active day. The staff were friendly and helpful

Pleasant location between lake and river.Staff very attentive

Weekends are busy with day trippers and the pool is full of children having a riot so no chance of getting in.Also no sun beds so had to drip dry in the sun……. However the night before we left x2 sun beds arrived so hopefully that is sorted now.Hotel was lovely though (big balcony but only small table and x2 chairs on it) but after x3 days we had been punted in a boat, kayaked and fished and as there is nothing much to see in the area we left for another destination early.Only book x3 to x4 days for a good stay and try make it mid week for a better one

I had a wonderful experience at Lake N River. Most of the staff were ladies which made the atmosphere even safer and comforting. They were really polite and the food was exceptional. Overall it was worth the money.

Lovely location with hotel having river one side and lake the other. Swimming pool that had recently been built with shower block was nice to have.Peaceful location and could do kayaking, river and lake trips that hotel organised from the hotel. Staff very friendly, helpful and organised tuk tuk to get alcohol and taxi to railway station for us as hotel is not near a town.F&B Manager and Hotel Manager helpful and spoke good English. Chef also adapted spice levels in dishes. Range of cuisines available. Covered open air eating area right by river. Also BBQ areas and other eating areas in gardens for events such as birthdays, family get togethers.Great to see all the wildlife from the hotel especially the kites and kingfishers. Also watching the fishermen, tour boats passing, sunrise and sunsets from outside on the lawn.Hotel offers packages so check out their website.The entrepreneurial hotel owner was very keen to further develop the resort and listened to our feedback. Really enjoyed our chill down stay.

Nothing we didn't like but feel hotel would benefit from having an alcohol license to attract a broader clientele (but they did arrange a tuk tuk to take us to local licensed spirit shop which was good).

The property is incredibly good. The manager, Deba, is an awesome host. We had an exceptionally valuable experience with Diana, Revathi, Achu, Chef, Ritu, and Ganesh making it a perfect short vacay with my family. The food was wonderful, especially the veg thali that gave us a sadya feel along with Karimeen polliyachadu. We loved the chicken curry and all the fish preparations too. Overall, a beautiful place to spend some quality time with your family. I would certainly recommend this to everyone.

Though many would argue the need for TV at such a beautiful resort, I would have loved if the connection was active because I love the news and was following the Karnataka elections. Of course, there are 2-3 lizards that you can expect anywhere in Kerala. If you are scared, just let them know and they can clear out the lizards for you (Thank you Ritu).

Excellent Location. Spacious property, lawns, gardens. Cleanliness. staff support.

Toilet was not matching with the overall property / rooms style. Toilet (River-1) was clean but felt like a budget hotel toilet. Cheap quality chairs provided outside the rooms/balcony. The pagoda / seating area constructed near lake side is of cheap metallic structure, spoiling the photographs.

Breakfast was compromised, and felt similar on every days. Staffs were exceptional, location is beautiful Enjoy the shikara. Will visit again.

Rooms Need to be cleaned well before the guests arrival

sofa in the room was not cleaned properly, insufficient seating provision to match with the huge balcony, poorly maintained access road to the property, breakfast and evening snack was not up to the mark

Had dinner and breakfast there...Both were very good. The location was amazing. We took the dinner breakfast inclusive package..but the food items are priced decently. The staff were courteous and helpful. The close to 2 hour boat ride which came at a extra cost (not high) was pleasant and fuss free.

Nothing to complain about..

Location is the highlight.The serene beauty of the resort is worth a visit. Can spent a day to relax away from hustle and bustle of the town.

The food was overpriced, very less quantity for the price charged. Food was just average. I had all three meals from the resort, but none were tasty enough. I would definitely recommend the stay there, but food was a great drawback.

The service of the staffers is excellent. Very courteous and always helpful. The food from the in-house restaurant is amazing ? and tasty. Idyllic surroundings. Mango tree and Gooseberry tree bear fruits and it was a beautiful sight. Canoeing is the main activity, it deserves a thumbs-up for they employed local people.

Breakfast Buffet service wasn't the best I expected. Service at night is a bit lazy. Activities were limited. It is a bumpy ride to the property. I think this is more a family oriented place with less welcoming to bachelors or friends together. There was no Bar, No hammock.

What a wonderful experience..i liked the whole place around that resort...Beautiful garden area which we took plenty of photos and also we took a little walk around the garden. We spend our time seeing the beauty of the lake in the benches from that resort.The staffs were friendly.I have to say this The Food we ordered is very delicious.They provided us covered food. Complimentary breakfast is very delicious. We got 6 Puris, masala, 2 omelette, Tea, 4 bananas which I didn't expected.We went for canoeing and saw some really cool sceneries and sunset. Our room was very neat and clean. Bathroom is very spacious which we liked the most.. Myself and my wife had a wonderful time in that resort.. All the best to Lake n River Resort to continue your best service.
