Munroe Island Lake Resorts

Dear Booking.com Support Team,I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration regarding a recent experience with a booking made through your platform.I had booked a stay at Munroe Island Lake Resort for my family. However, just one day before our scheduled arrival, the hotel manager contacted me and informed me that our booking was not confirmed. This came as a shock, especially since we had received confirmation from your platform and had made all necessary arrangements based on that.To make matters worse, I later noticed that the resort had accepted other bookings at a higher price, clearly indicating that our reservation was deliberately canceled in favor of more profitable guests. The behavior of the manager was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful during our conversation.This incident not only caused significant inconvenience to my family but also reflected poorly on the reliability of Booking.com. I trusted your platform to ensure a hassle-free booking experience, and unfortunately, this was not the case.I kindly request that you look into this matter seriously and take appropriate action against the property to prevent such incidents in the future. I also urge you to review their listing and ensure this kind of behavior is not repeated with other guests.Looking forward to your prompt response and resolution.Sincerely,Manoj kumar

Very rude staff. Stale food. Blood stained bed sheets.

Great location, nice little room. Central for exploring island.

No swimming pool, it was advertised as having a pool for swimming. Cycle hire was also advertised, this was also non-existent.

Except for Charon, the supervisor, nothing is good here. There are no restaurants nearby but the food cooked was good and homely. Poor value for the money and I would NOT recommend.

First of all, it is NOT on a lake and it is NOT a resort. It is a few cottages on a pond. The room is barebones with a double bed, a side table, and a plastic chair. Poor value for the money and I would NOT recommend.

The food was delicious and well cooked. The place for dining was neat and clean. There was a complimentary breakfast that I also liked.

The booking was confirmed and approved. But they didn't give us the room that we booked. They expected us to adjust in a tiny room with very little facilities. The staff were not friendly. They claimed to be a local but couldn't give proper guidance.

Infrastructure needs more maintenance. Poorly maintained.. especially the pond , boat etc.

Location and ambience

Attitude of the staffs. Room cleanliness. No toiletries provided. Needs to wait 1 hour for a cup of tea which we ordered evening. Worst morning complimentary breakfast. While enquired got some irresponsible response from the front desk. Provided only Dosa as breakfast no any options. Can find better hotels nearby with same ambience. Homestay s are far better there when compared to the price what they charge for the facilities available.

River side boating

Poor maintenance especially AC, the doors don’t have proper closing mechanism, the gaps not allowing the rooms to get sufficiently cooled. The food was just average or even below.One room out of four was allotted too far and we didn’t use it

Very nice and quiet place in Munroe Island, with an incredible view on the nature ! Hosts were super welcoming and of good advice. Location is very nice

Breakfast was good. Food was slightly priced on the higer side, but thats acceptable Overall okay experience.Staff was friendly and cordial, Fishing was awesome. Room amenities could have been better. we didnt get a blanket.

Clean, good location and friendly staff

Initially they made a mistake on my booking, but I was glad that they fixed it.

The manager, Sedhu was very helpful and made sure our stay was pleasant. Actually, all the staff was super friendly and helpful. Food was good and the room was comfortable. we also loved our special guests in and outside the room! we slept with 3 little geckos that kept us company during our stay! :D

The bathroom had no ventilation so it was pretty humid and the smell spread to the room, it was the first thing we noticed when we entered the room. With the AC and after opening the window for a few minutes the issue was resolved. Still needs attention though.

Property situated in heart of munroe island and it’s very calm and quite . Receptionist is very good and helpful. lunch was really homemade and the taste yummy. especially the pearlspot (karimeen fry )

The room air conditioning doesn’t have a remote to adjust the temperature. Toilet door don’t have a proper lock and the window is broken. Even the door looks terrible and housekeeping is not well organised.staff are very curious to know about our location and they never asked about the food and stay ?

The location is good and the property in its own is good. Chef was also considerate and made veg items for us.

Only a few rooms are very good, rest are very damp and dark and suffocating.

Breakfast was good, we had omlette and dosa. Dinner was excellent, not oily and superb taste and quantity. Also cost was very low. It was less than half of what we expected seeing quality. Canoe tour arranged by them was superb.

Some bathroom fittings were not tightened., like tap base was sligtly rotating. But there was no leakage. Otherwise bathroom was clean.
