Friendly staff and good parking once explained how to access it. Wide selection of drinks in a vibrant bar. Good sized bedroom.

Low water pressure in the shower.

Old hotel..great location. Very clean and comfortable . Plenty of NZ history. Nice town. Not a lot to see or do there

Staircase got longer and higher each time

We loved that we were staying in a historic pub with comfortable rooms and lovely restaurant

It was a very warm humid night and being an old hotel it doesn’t have air conditioning. There was a feeling fan and upright fan but the room didn’t cool down. Not the pub’s fault just the weather!

Check in was quick and easy. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was a good size.

Room was a bit warm to start but soon cooled down once the aircon got going.

Rutland Arms is an excellent period hotel with modern facilities. The room was large, well appointed and comfortable, however, a possible shortcoming was that it did not have air conditioning and it was a warm night. Open windows and ceiling fan were sufficient although noise from outside was evident. The continental breakfast was very good. Given that the hotel is in the centre of town the location was excellent. Car parking was also available. Value was excellent and we enjoyed our stay.

Room was comfortable as I only had a 2 night stay.

The shower was very poor and you wouldn't want to have long hair etc. as would be near impossible to rinse. I had a continental breakfast included but on last day opted for a cooked breakfast but disappointed that none of the expense for continental couldn't contribute towards the cost of cooked.

Lovely big room in a lovely period property in the centre of town. Very popular restaurant tells the tale…good food on-site as well.

Great location and oldie worldly charm. The staff were great as we arrived late and they waited for us to check in. A comfortable room and a good nights sleep.

Breakfast was great (continental, but a la carte from their kitchen so takes a bit of time), the bed was comfortable, staff were friendly and the location was great.

Being an older building there was no air con. We left our windows open the first night but the street noise kept me awake a lot of the night. The next night we closed them and the room was so hot.

Third stay. Great accom, great staff, great food!

Comfortable room with a good bed. Enjoyed free parking. Our dinner was also delicious and so easy to eat where we were staying especially as the weather was inclement.

Shower lets the room experience down,water pressure is pitiful in fact probably the worst we’ve ever experienced.

Lovely decor, close to shops and cafes, nice view from the window, and our evening meal was delicious

Beautiful historic boutique hotel in superb central location, serving excellent breakfasts, lunch and dinners by wonderful friendly helpful staff. Highly recommend.

No air con in room

Friendly welcoming staff (realized later that we had arrived over an hour before the checkin time (got muddled with other places we were staying on our holiday) - but no fuss or hassle at all for them. Housekeeping lady upstairs was so kind and friendly and bar and breakfast staff brilliant too. Easy parking at the rear of hotel and comfy bed and lovely clean and attractive room and ensuite - would stay here again.

The room was very nice and spacious, looked freshly redecorated. Location was great, made it easy to walk everywhere. Very quiet despite having the bar & restaurant downstairs, which was quite busy. Breakfast was lovely

Parking was quite confusing to find, and unfortunately the shower had very minimal water pressure
