Riverview Motel

Our one bedroom apartment was very clean and well equipped. Location was close to shops and restaurants.

They were under staffed and we couldn't check it til half 3 but over all the staff were amazing.

Always a great motel to stay when we are in Whanganui. We never book anywhere else.

We don't have many problems staying, maybe car parks need to be more spaced. Especially by the steps for top floor, parking there is very tight.

The road noise. Our room overlooked the road along the river. In the day it was very noisy as the windows are only single glazed.

Very helpful staff. Close to the town centre.Very clean, good shower.

Not enough lighting. Passing traffic noise. Mattresses too soft for our liking.

Location is excellent. The motel is within easy walking distance of the main shops which is a positive. Also, being located beside the river, there is the opportunity for good walks on flat paths - especially if you are interested in the riverboat history of Wanganui. The motel is a 5-10 minutes walk from both the wharf where river cruises depart and the riverboat museum.

Lovely large unit, with comfortable beds and couches. Friendly, helpful staff.

The unit was hot and the ceiling fan didn’t cool things down. There was a fan in the main bedroom which was used all night. The fridge/freezer was the tiniest appliance I’ve ever seen, and quite awkward to bend down to access.

Great location, walking distance to town and the river boat. Our unit was spacious with a separate bedroom, large bathroom and decent kitchen with two burners but no oven. The bathroom had toiletries and facecloths. The wifi was good. The receptionist was very helpful and gave suggestions on what to see and do. The location was quiet with no road noise.

We couldn't figure out the TV and only a couple of channels worked.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were were friendly and welcoming. NIt was close enough to the centre to walk in for bars and restaurants.

This motel is is a great location opposite the riverside walkway and close to town.

It is clear that there has been no investment in refurbishment for decades, which made it very dreary as the paintwork is battered, the carpet has carpet moth. The walls are very thin and the people through the wall were easily audible snoring etc. There was road noise.

The motel room had lots of natural light, airy, had very good kitchen facilities, a good compendium with an overview of Wanganui and things to see and do, and very convenient to tourist attractions in Wanganui. The staff were friends and helpful.

We didn't find anything to not like.

Great service, 1 of the quicker responder’s & check-in was very easy compared to a few other sites I’ve stayed in.

Some rubbish was left, parking quite tight when there are trailers/ tradie utes on the property, truck/ traffic noise was a little constant & surprisibg through the night.

The unit was tired and dated. It was clean enough but areas that need repairs which made it feed less clean. There were ants in the kitchen which I reported to the owner
