Pros +
- Nice spacious room in a gorgeous old former manor house. Gorgeous view. Newly renovated bathroom.
- Historical hotel. Good location and nice to have on-site parking
- Location and was comfortable.
Cons -
- Door was banging all night when we had the window open for some fresh air - had to stuff a towel under it. Situated at the top of a hill so be prepared for some serious cardio to and from town! No lift, which we were aware of but could be an issue for some.
- That the passage light was too bright during the night. Suggest to have a motion light to come on when you walk and off if no one around.

Communication re check in was very good. Staff very helpful. Lovely room, very clean and comfortable.
Nothing really,
Nice room in an excellent location. Comfortable bed. Staff (Pila) was extremely helpful and accommodating.
Room spacious. Beautiful interior design in building
Couldn’t access verandah easily. No kitchen hub.
Clean, comfortable room with good facilities
On a steep site with stair access- a little difficult to carry luggage up and down. Quite noisy at night
Comfortable room Friendly staff
A walk from restaurants
Beautiful large well equipped room. Spotless. Physically very comfortable.
Noise from the street. Rooms 6 and 7 are on the main road with bins below the get emptied very early. The glass is old single pane.
Lovely character property, friendly staff.Easy check in and out
As our room was on the ground floor it was noisy at times from guests above especially early in the mornings when they were leaving their rooms
Loved the history of the building, bed was very comfortable, room was dark and quiet. We enjoyed our stay. The receptionist was very welcoming.
The hill its on, we had to carry our heavy bags up stairs but this was explained before booking. I just didnt realise there was two sets of stairs
Heritage listed - lovely renovation. Stayed in two rooms Room 7 (std queen) up the stairs and room 1 (exec) on ground level with larger bathroom. Both tastefully decorated and spacious Very comfortable. Receptionist was lovely.Stroll down the hill to cafes (Samuel Pepys fun owner and excellent food), Nomy (tapas bar), Royal Oak (lots local wines) and shops (great Paddy Palin). Also Bread and Butter is an excellent cafe/bakery. Plenty parking if hiring a car. Don’t miss QVMAG - awesome free museum and art gallery. Can’t miss Cataract Gorge either.
Nothing (unless you have trouble walking/using stairs)
Close to everything, very comfortable and lovely.
The noise of the festival til 11pm for two nights made it very difficult to get to sleep. Would stay again, just not on festival weekend.
The opulence of this place is amazing and the location superb. Everything is withon walking distance. We loved the very high ceilings, full kitchen and dining room of the 3 bedroom apartment.
Lots of stairs from the lower carpark so hard with suitcases!
The building is lovely and the rooms comfortable. It is about a 7 minute walk into town for restaurants and the beautiful gorge walk (uphill on the way home) very helpful lady at reception
The history of the property was incredible. It had such a relaxed vibe, very nice atmosphere, loved it
Nothing, was concerned reading reviews about the hills etc, but found it an easy walk into city.
Disappointed
Damaged front steps. Broken tap in bathroom. Way too noisy from other rooms, every door that shut, toilet that flushed, television and shower from other rooms we could hear, plus the heavy front reception door, it felt like we were in a dormitory. Very disappointing.
Lovely old building. Very clean and comfortable
From the moment we stepped foot on the property, we knew exactly where the reception was. It was easy to spot. The (presumed) owner was very welcoming, informative and funny, as she talked about the accomodations, house rules and different recommended things to do, during our stay. Once we entered, we were amazed. It was even better than what the photos said. My partner said the bath was nice, the shower was great, loved the sitting areas and the bed was one of the best sleeps I've had away from home. Overall, I would 100% stay again, if I were to visit Launceston again.
The only thing that I was slightly disappointed about was the fact there was little to no kitchen appliances. At bare minimum, a microwave would have been nice, but we only received a kettle and fridge. Of course, it stated that on the accommodation, but it would've been nice to have at least a microwave to heat up the leftover pizza. lol
Our room was a good size, bed was comfortable & it was close to the cbd.
The hot water did not function as expected so shower was very uncomfortable.
