Pros +
- It was just ok for a two night stay with our grandchildren.
- The location and rooms while dated, were comfortable and secure.
- the activities for the children were great, although it works out to be very expensive after you child wants multiple goes on things. Food in the restaurant was great, could not fault. We were turned away for breakfast though as one of our guests were not eating so they would not let them in.
Cons -
- The facilities are looking rather tired - need an update. The pool area was not the cleanest. Did think that activities on offer could be at least half cost if you are staying on premises. Especially if using the cafe for lunch and restaurant for dinner meals because it is not cheap.
- I would suggest that at least a table and chairs be available in each room, while yes there was one outside the room, due to rain it could not be taken inside,
- Kitchen Tap was broken, toilet ran all day/night long. Beds were a little hard but ok. It was really heavy raining and there where out car was supposed to be parked was like a swamp.

Swiss style chaletIndoor poolLolly shopWalk around Lake LouiseRestaurant was greatSpacious villa had heaps of room
Resort is a bit tired
hotel rooms were nice and comfortable
the place looks like it needs updating in certain areas - family stayed in cabins and they were apparently very dated.
Grounds, peaceful location not too far from many good attractions and Swiss village are fav. Liked art in main building (prob needed less and fix many other very poor instead per below), beds, dinner food. Mini Golf (except cost, given low overall satisfaction and value even in winter).
We're from Sydney and this is my 2nd Tasmania trip. I stayed here about 20 years ago and it was much better! Pool and spa now disgusting, rusty!! Bistro dinner hours are absurd, even for a winter Mon and Tues, given there's little options nearby. On 2 nights we almost couldn't go as got back a bit late and latest booking was 7:30! Should tell guests at check in re very limited times. Most other closed also so we had to drive to CBD and didn't want as we're very tired. Room we got had no view of lake, village and vert little garden etc Bland. Very poorly equipped ie tea, coffee quality awful for gourmet produce region, not even toaster, plate, bowls for snacks etc. Stayed at 3 other accommodation in days prior and got so much more value! Can't leave heater on when out of room, so when returning it's very cold. Very few people to socialize with.
The meals in the restaurant were great. The steak was divine!Lots of interesting wildlife aroundIt was like staying in a cabin in a camping ground. It would be popular in the summer
Beds creaked
It rained our whole stay but kids enjoyed looking through the village, swimming in the pool and visiting the arcade.Added bonus was in the activity centre you could borrow board games sooo many to choose from.
The showers in our chalet was very hard to get a decent temperature it was either roasting or freezing and shower head was broken so had to duck to wash hair
we loved the lake view, spa bath, buffet breakfast and overall cozy feel
nothing really, maybe more comprehensive kitchenette
Country look of it all , but looked a bit like Swedish look !
There was no light outside the door , the censor was around the back where you park , so going out the door , no light came on , didn’t like parking around the back , parking area wasn’t the best ! A few other things in the cabin weren’t great either ! We have stayed in bigger studio rooms !
The staff was friendly and the room was clean
The light in the bathroom didn't work and the air conditioner wouldn't turn off
Our chalet was quiet, restful and contained all the facilities we needed. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The grounds were pleasant to walk around and the staff were polite, informative, and helpful. The position is excellent being only 15 minutes from Launceston centre, but being on a hill overlooking the Tamar River it's a perfect, peaceful, and convenient escape.
Only one small issue. A tap in the bathroom basin had a small leak, possibly just a washer needing replacement, which I reported to the desk staff on departure to allow maintenance.
Quite place best beds i have had
Old fittings in nicley painted rooms
We styed here for the first time over easter. Excellent staff, they went above and beyond. Friendly check in, when the cash machine was off-line in the games room, the desk guy came over in the rain to help. When a particularly noisy neighbour moved into the room next to us, they moved us no questions asked, which really is amazing customer service. We left some clothes in the room and they were nice enough to send it back express post.I personally love the old fashioned vibes of this place and the nostalgia, I hope they don't revamp it too much and if they do, I hope it's in keeping with the era it was built and they never try to modernise it. It's just got so much to offer as a relaxed, fun family stay.Loved splash golf, seems a bit expensive at first glance, but 40 balls takes a lot longer than you think, so it was actually great. The mini golf course was absolutely brilliant, quality, shady, and beautiful. Really fun challenging holes. The course is worth going to in its own right. My son loved the pedal cars, again it seems a bit expensive at first glance for half an hour, but they are pretty labour intensive and he absolutely got his moneys worth and was happy to stop after the half hour so it was worth the money. Smaller kids won't be able to pedal them uphill, so be prepared to push. The roomservice was really decent and the meal in the restaurant was very good. The pork ribs were a 10/10.The coffee at the bakery was not bad at all. Quality Tasmanian icecream at the icecream shop is a bonus. The views at the lookout were really stunning. The little village is just really endearing and a lovely way to spend the morning, and then it's even more special to head down and have a look over it at night when the lights are on.
The fact that you can only use the boats between 9-10, which is really annoying and limiting, and it's not communicated anywhere clearly. I don't understand it, and they really need to improve this so people get to experience it. I think they should bring back the pedal boats and let people enjoy the lake again because it's just beautiful. I didn't see anyone on it. We didn't go in the pool because it's too heavily chlorinated, the fumes are extreme. I'd love it if they would consider going half chlorine half salt like some other Tasmanian pools. Splash golf needs shade sails, you will absolutely fry on a hot day because we could feel it badly in full sun on only a 22 degree day in late April. In summer, it would be a disaster reflecting off the water. There is absolutely nowhere to escape the blaring sun.
great room, spacious and the resort was great they have a few activities. very pretty area
breakfast buffet was not the best
Quiet location with great facilities. Fabulous bistro and setvice.
Lots of things to do. Staff were friendly
The pool, spa and sauna are old and need a refresh
Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely room and facilities
Bed was a little uncomfortable but nothing major
Can stay inside whole day
Pool and Jazuzzi were smellyBeds uncomfortable and small
Over priced and Not recommended for families
We liked nothing, bad smell in sauna and jacuzzi, pool was very small as compare to big resort, all activities are highly paid of guests too, except tennis court. Bad experience.
