We have made many communication regarding that we are vegetarian, so the order placed should all be vegetarian. When the food come we double check again whether it is vegetarian and the staff confirmed again that what we have is vegetarian. Then we ate the food, it was told to us that they made a mistake and serve us with chicken. This made us running for toilet the whole night. When we feed back to the manager only realised that we had trainees but no one is around to train the trainee there made us all had the wrong food.

Our stay at Southern Sun was absolutely wonderful. The place is lovely, with a beautiful view that adds to the overall experience. The rooms were spotless, and the beds were incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax and rest.The food was amazing, and the staff were outstanding — friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and care. My team truly enjoyed their stay, and we would gladly return. Highly recommended.

We loved the beautiful views of the river and the garden area, from our room. The size of our room was also good, it was clean and had everything we needed. The water pressure and temperature in the shower was also great. The overall offering is good given the price-point, great value for money.

They can improve the cleanliness of the communal bathroom close to reception.

Pizza ordered was raw from the restaurant and management did nothing about it. First we waited about two hours for our pizza and we had to send it back as it was raw and it came back again raw. No manager apologised to us and no refund even yet they could all see it was raw. It was my queen's birthday and the bad ruined the weekend

Great location, ideal to launch the boat and get on the Vaal. The hotel offers to put it on the water for you and keep it safe overnight (500R)The hotel itself was lovely. Well maintained, clean and very confortable. Amazing breakfast, facilities on point. I will definitly go again!

The hotel has a beautiful lawn and garden, a great view and the most refreshing cocktails. It's a nice place to relax and take a city break. The hotel went over and above with a slice of cake for my birthday, they could have afforded me a better room though. I was placed on the 5th floor right at the corner.

The room had a bed smaller that expected - my son almost fell off a few times. The food menu at the restaurant didn't have a large variety of options. It's as if you are forced to eat from the buffet, which didn't look appetizing for me at all. Breakfast options also didn't look so great. Some of the food choices were the same as the buffet dinner.

The breakfast has a wide variety of choices. The place was a bit cold though even though there are aircons.

The aircon in the room 500 was not working. We reported it and it was still not fixed. This made the stay uncomfortable and cold.

The breakfast was adequate. Dinner buffet was lacking. Staff at bar was wonderful. The facilities were nice - sheets a little scratchy. Beautiful river setting. So peaceful to walk around. Parking security was diligent.

The restaurant dinner and breakfast were ok but not great. Sheets scratchy. These were minor issues.

The food, Dinner was not good. Need to add more variety for people who do not eat port and beef. Quality of the food is not the best.
