Kongo Hotel

Good location, short walk to Haapsalu Castle, and main pedestrian street with restaurants/cafes. Quiet location on a residential street. Good breakfast buffet. Modernized rooms, comfortable bed, and facilities worked properly. Lots of onsite parking.

Had a couple of minor hiccups during my stay, which could be easily fixed. Self-checkin, no receptionist on site, trouble with door entrance lock malfunctioning, not responding to code. No temperature control in room, facing the sun on a hot evening. No screen on windows, so mosquitos enter room when windows open. A reciprocating fan would have helped cool the room (if there was a receptionist to contact).

The room and bathroom were clean. The TV was good.

The room and bathroom were cramped. The writing desk was barely big enough for my laptop. Location was a bit far from Haapsalu attractions.

A very old and worn-out interior. The walls of the rooms are probably made of plasterboard, as everything can be heard through them.

The location was super. The room was not as big as I expected, but there was plenty of extra leisure space on the floor hall to sit and a kid to play in the kids corner. There was lots of toys to play. Beds were very comfy and a good breakfast. We stayed with a well behaving dog and we felt very welcome.

The ventilation of the room was not so good, but not really something to complain about.

Nice and quiet location as well as nice and cosy the room was.We didn't expect such kind of Nice accommodation with good value price-services....definitely better than many other places in the same area....we recommend it if you have to go there...

Not worth the price for a ‘dormitory like’ room. No air conditioning so the room was very hot. Couldn’t open window because it was already loud from people outside on street and no screens on windows; didn’t want mosquitoes to get in.

Free parking was nice and the reception was welcoming.

A hotel room should fill in the basic needs: good sleep, fresh air, quietness and if breakfast is included - a delicious one. This hotel lacked all of them and I really wonder the three star rating. We payed for a bedroom for two, but the bed was for 1,5 person (width 120 cm I suppose). There was no air conditioning (this was our bad, didn't check the hotel info properly, which only mentioned the heating system). But the air was reaaally stuffy in 15 minutes without opening a window. Walls were so thin, we could hear every step in the corridor. Otherwise, visitors were quiet. And finally the breakfast. The only things we could eat as vegetarians, were porridge, bread and cereals + cucumber and tomato slices. Don't even bother if you're a vegan. The food wasn't delicious at all, rather managable. Overall, all the furniture were outdated and reminded more of an 80's hostel than a three star hotel. Mentioned toiletries were btw, only shower gel and hand soap.

We loved everything! Pictures actually do not describe the rooms correctly- i think they should make the new ones using proffessial photographer to really describe the vibe. Rooms were cozy and had scandinavian feel in them. Our room had little kitchen where you can make some simple stuff if needed. Staff were so so friendly. Breakfast was simple, but there were meatballs and cinnamon buns, so it was perfect for us.

I think we do not have any complains at all.

A perfectly functional hotel, off the main roads yet still close to the city center. Friendly staff, decent breakfast to start the day. While it will not steal your heart, it will serve your needs properly.

Bed was different than asked (tuo separate) and no one was there at the time of our arrival so couldn’t ask. Also info about sauna was hard to get at the time.
