Location. Old attractive pub. Plenty of parking.
Beautiful, old establishment. Staff brilliant, locals friendly. Food amazing. Room huge for just 1 person.
Good food and well kept beer, excellent breakfast. Very friendly people who had only taken on the lease a few months earlier. Basic but clean room.
The window in my room wouldn’t open so some maintenance needed.
Good location for touring around the dales. Car parking available. Breakfast very good, friendly staff. Competitively priced. Comfortable bed and pillows and room clean. Meal in the pub the first evening was very nice. Good range of beers.
Despite reasonable price, the room was very tired. The sink was cracked, the taps leaked, the shower had only one door and a shower curtain in place of the other (didn't use the shower). The toilet handle seemed quite flimsy and was a bit concerned when flushing it might come off. There was only 1 lamp in the room. The main light had no light bulb and the other side of the bed had a wall light that didn't work. The wifi was intermittent at best meaning you couldn't stream anything despite having a really good tv. We didn't mention at the time as we only really slept there so wasn't a major problem but maybe needs a freshen up
Great location in the Yorkshire Dales with amazing views.I had to leave early before breakfast was due to start but the staff made me a delicious bacon sandwich to take with me.
It was quite tired and could do with a makeover.

Drove 100 miles with a confirmed booking to be told the hotel was closed. I then had to fight Booking.com tooth and nail to get my money back. Their communication was dreadful.
Bad
Turned up at the hotel and was told they overbooked and my room was not available!! Although I booked and paid for the room far in advance. The manager was not on site, and the staff didn't even help with booking accommodation somewhere else. They blamed their third-party booking agent. I blame the hotel. If they knew they didn't have room available for me, they should get in touch with their agent and tell them to cancel my reservation!. I left my phone number and was promised the manager would call me. Guess what? Still no call.....
Relaxing location and staff were so friendly.Excellent breakfast of a morning.
Nice location. Oldy worldly building.
Windows need looking at. Not very nice. Room not cleaned or tea topped up during stay
Very welcoming staff. Excellent breakfast. Great tea tray in room with complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. Lovely comfortable bed and pillows.
Not a dislike just a comment that the rooms are quite tired looking and we were unable to open the window in one room and the sliding door to the bathroom was hanging off.
Disaster
Tired needs total revamp windows broke unable to open door to room had to kick it to close walls crumbling dirty carpets
Set in a lovely location with a very good breakfast , friendly staff who were helpful
Nice cosy pub surroundings, friendly locals, friendly staff!
Didn't get a chance to find out
We had a phone call the day before arriving to say the hotel couldn't fulfil the booking due to a leak. Still fighting for a refund!
Breakfast was fine with a cooked option. It met our needs
There was nothing I didn't like. New owners working hard to upgrade
The breakfast was cooked to order and excellent. We were traveling back to the Midlands from Scotland and needed to call at (what is probably the best butcher's in Yorkshire) Hammond's in Bainbridge. Being retired and in no hurry we decided to stay the night at the rose and crown and were not disappointed!! From being let go a little the new hosts have certainly got the pub/accommodation on an upward trajectory so very well done.
Nothing really
Breakfast was very goodSituation pleasantPlenty of parking
Serving staff cuddling dogs constantly
