Food was excellent. Staff were very friendly.
Drinks from the bar were very expensive.
Great location and value. Modern, clean and spacious rooms. Well equipped.
Bed was very comfy. Lighting good (no light above mirror or it wasn’t working). Tea and coffee making facilities were great. Large bath towels and fluffy too.
Window Blind let in a lot of light at side so early wake up! We were next to corridor door which was heavy so slammed shut every time someone left/ entered the corridor. Shampoo and body wash shower containers were empty but we had our own.
The accommodation was very convenient for us as it is right on the SW Coast Path. It has beautiful views on the sea. We arrived after 5 pm (8 pm), so we had to get someone from the restaurant to check us in. This was done relatively promptly, although the restaurant was extremely busy (Saturday evening). We didn't have towels in the room, but that was also sorted quite promptly after contacting restaurant staff. We appreciate their speedy help, especially given how busy the restaurant/bar were that day. Prior to arrival, we asked about having a twin bed room, which was acknowledged, and we had a positive response, but on the day, this was not possible, we were told. Later that evening (just before the kitchen was closing at 8:45 and when it was no longer so busy), we also had dinner in the restaurant. The food was okay, although we had to wait for it for quite a while. We left very early in the morning, so we did not try breakfast.
Area, location, bar and food
No sea view.
The location is prefect for a small, quite local get away. We walked via the coastal path (4miles) to the ferry and went to Padstow. Lots nice things to see on the way. Its a big long hill on the way back from beach to Polzeath beach (and going) so be warned - I have HCM so got a taxi back from Ferry area to hotel. The hotel room was spotless, had lots of things, very modern, nice toiletries, cleaned lovely - If you can book with sea view i would to be prefect.Lizzy/Izzy was very friendly and nothing was to much trouble to help us - despite been over worked! Credit to the hotel.
I asked if we needed to book a table when checking in. I told them there was no need to book, but on the 2nd night, we could not get a table. When we explained that we were staying in the hotel and were told to be okay for a table, it seemed to be an issue for the person in charge, and it made us feel like we were the issue. He did not seem to want to help. After I asked if we could sit in reception to eat, agreed and walked off, so I had to order via another person. When the food did arrive, it was cold. The other staff worked hard and were friendly. The girl told us it was due to an unexpected amount of people drinking there due to the lovely day. Maybe we should reserve some tables for the hotel or advise you to book one. Another note is that dogs are inside the restaurant, so if not, your thing might enjoy what it seems most places do in the area (we didn't mind)
Great stay, will definitely return. Ideal location, rooms very clean. Bonus to have such a great restaurant downstairs too. Great service, great staff.
Superb position .Staff were very good .The room and the food were excellent
Accommodation was superb! Food was delicious and very attentive staff.
Amazing location, lovely clean and modern hotel. Friendly staff.
Location and modern hotel, friendly staff and nice rooms
The bed mattress was way to soft for me and with suffering from acute neck pain, the hotel didn’t have any firmer mattresses which was a huge disappointment as I ended up driving back to Devon at 1am
I only stayed for 15 mins. and left. I did not have breakfast
Polzeath Beach House is fronted by a hotel Called the Atlantic Hotel. I had assumed from their photographs that this was in fact the hotel. I kept asking for directions and nobody knew where it was. I eventually had to go into the Atlantic Hotel and seek information. I was told that I was in the right place but there was no one in reception. However a nice young girl arrived and was very helpful. I was shown my room, second floor. I assumed from the photographs that I would have a sea view. This was not the case. The corridors are very narrow with no natural light and resembled a maze. I did not go into the room as I had decided that I was not going to stay there.
Great location
Reception not staffed after 5pm so had trouble getting into the hotel as doors locked. Could do with a sign on the door telling guests to go round the building & through the restaurant to gain access.Hotel quite noisy at night due fire doors slamming in corridors & lights going on & off all night , illuminating our room. No phone in room to call reception. A good nights sleep was not had!! Glad only one night stay!
Restaurant view and location. Rooms comfortable, although not large. Comfortable hotelCoffee in the light during the afternoon in the bar/restaurant was a lovely experience watching the surfers, sea and the bay.
Restaurant menu choices when we visited felt to us to be high in carbs. Meals were ok
Excellent location; nicely decorated rooms, well stocked with all that you need; friendly staff; the 'surf shack' was useful; easy check-in and check-out process; nice bar on premises
As the hotel welcomes dogs, I was woken up twice by barks that echoed loudly throughout the building; the room was quite cold
Proximity to the beach. Warm and comfortable.
The hotel windows only face the back alley and this is not made clear in the descriptions. There were lots of doors and steps to negotiate with key fobs and release buttons. Hard with hands full of luggage.
