Cons -
- We asked for 2 xtra pillows were told they would be delivered, they took the hand towels way but didn’t replace them had to use the bath towels
- Room amazed no glasses for water.
- The bed was uncomfortable the walls where paper thin , we had a friend come to see us for an hour and the staff was rather rude we've never had issues before with this

The grounds were lovely,as was the little town nearby.
The uncomfortable bed and stain on the mattress. Breakfast was luke warm and overheard staff at the restaurant complaining. Shame. We did get a refund for the stain but won't be returning.
I arrived at night so I had no idea of the stunning views of the grounds awaiting me the following bright and sunny morning
Only a small thing, it was too poorly lit for my liking but I understand it's not a football stadium
We had a refurbished room, this was lovely. My daughter had a dated room, not so good. Breakfast was good however dinner not so good, small portions, under cooked sausages and overpriced for the quality.I wouldn't recommend dinner at the hotel but good for drinks, pool etc.
Dinner, poor quality, overpriced and small portions.
The hotel is very nice , spa facility’s was good , food was good
We went for my 60th birthday as a treat , the room was clean and large but very standard and basic , no dressing table. The facilities wasn't the best . The spa lockers was a disgrace they didn’t work and needed a revamp badly ,, we was told when we arrived breakfast was between 8/10am and we had breakfast at 9.45 Monday morning no problem then Tuesday we went the same time and was told the breakfast restaurant Was closed as it closes at 9.30 by a very abrupt lady ,we told her that was it we had been told and we had breakfast at 9.45 on Monday , she then told us we had the wrong times and only at the weekends was it open at 10.30 , we never stayed the weekend and told her so , we did get out breakfast but felt so rushed and uncomfortable sitting there . Also on my birthday night Monday , the two meals we ordered as we was half board was not available and the meals we did order took ages to arrive . Plus the night before on Sunday ,we had an allowance of £29 each which we never used and the staff never told us we had some funds left over , we realized the next night that we hadn’t spent £14 and asked could we add it to the next night as we hadn’t spent it and it would of been a nice gesture as it was my 60 th birthday as they refused .. so all in all not the best place we have stayed .. most of the staff was pleasant and very nice but there was a few who was not so .. very disappointed in the satay ,
Outside grounds were nice- don’t be fooled by the pillared house because most of the buildings are well worn. Breakfast buffet was good.
Old & worn. Our friends room: Bathroom light switch defective, bed side lamp not working, no glasses in the room, bath towel stained, extremely low flow shower, worn carpet in the room and hallway, no answer on the phone for room service or, service room, I tried calling three times, 40 rings each time. WIFI is spotty at best. Hot and cold breakfast was very good. Our room: No glasses - when we asked for them at Reception, they sent us to the Bar to get them. Carpet in room worn with a stale odor, Bathroom tub had rust stains on inside base. The 1 Chair was sad looking. The lift wasn’t working & no offer to help with our luggage. The toilet was very difficult to flush. They need to put the same money & effort into the inside that they have on the outside.
Big comfortable rooms Very helpful & friendly staff Lovely location
Food wasn’t anything special
We had a good nights sleep at your property however we spent nearly an hour trying to understand which road to take that leads to your hotel. We tried three different roads that all said road closed and were circling round for 45 mins. When we called the hotel the staff told us to just drive past the road closure on Mansfield road which meant we had to go all the way back to the first road we tried. I think you should advise your guests in advance as to which road to come through.
Beautiful property set in impressive surroundings, a welcoming atmosphere on arrival. Staff are very helpful and friendly.
I prefer my bed to be a little softer, personal preference, again the staff were kind and brought me an extra quilt to lay on to make it more comfortable. Thank you.
Staff were friendly and it was clean.
The manor house photo gives a false impression. It’s not really a residential part of the hotel. It’s effectively a 1980s rundown conference center. The rooms desperately need updating. The grounds look nice but aren’t useable and could be put to better use for guests. Rooms are spread out across a sprawling building. Again more an outdated conference center than a hotel.
Location, room, food and service were all excellent. Loads of free easy parking.Amazing value for money.Stayed here a few times visiting family and will definitely return.
Nothing to dislike.
Lovely meal, thought breakfast was a little expensive
Need sky sports.
The rooms are lovely and the grounds are beautiful and stunning. Nice bar area and outside seating areas. Food is amazing and staff are delightful and very helpful and friendly.
Nothing, it was lovely and enjoyable
Room, staff, cleanliness, hotel grounds and location.
Pool out of action then cold. Sauna out of action. Poor selection or zero alcohol free beers/lagers/stouts. Long way from reception to room. Every breakfast item was excellent except the sausages which were dreadful.
Location is amazing. Rooms are quite spacious and clean. Breakfast is good.
Maybe the second floor rooms could be refurbished as the rest on ground and first floor
The bed, the breakfast and the staff were brilliant.
The leasure facilities were a bit dated, especially the pool showers.
Very helpful staff.Very dog friendly
Price for second night to extend stay higher price....discouraging spur of moment change in plan
