Pros +
- The room was small but the view from the window was exceptional. Restaurant staff were helpful.
- I used to live in Lossiemouth for a few years, I was up for one night to see friends and the Firth offered a great rate and location for me to revisit a wonderful place. The staff were friendly and the room clean and functional. If I balanced everything out, cosy, cleanliness and friendliness, it was excellent. I had breakfast plans at the golf club, so not able to comment on quality of food.
- Location and staff were excellent but the restaurant were top notch.
Cons -
- Dirty air fan in bathroom. Mild in shower. Poor lighting in stairwells. Steep stairs, one handrail on steep stair. Cold draft under door into room. Curtain sitting on the heater. The hotel closed on January 01 leaving no staff on site. No opportunity to obtain meals.Hotel could advise guests of the circumstances that hotel unattended. It was described as their best room. Well the view was great. Not sure it should be called a Hotel! We were confined to our room nearly all of January 01.
- Sockets in the room were a little out of reach and the wardrobe covered the heater which was on full blast. I had to leave the window open which is counter intuitive.
- All good.

All good.
I have stayed here before and it is right on the sea front and Lossie is such a bonnie wee toon. It is a place straddled between and old pub/hotel building and the expections and regulations of our modern world. It is lovely to be in the old stone built building which has been modernised inside to make comfy rooms. There was a question above about the room size - the rooms are the size they are and really there is no changing that - so I did not answer that question. Warm, clean, dry and excellent for the money. On this trip I had a very nasty car accident and I was damaged too, at this point I did realise how steep the stair cases are and as I was on the top floor that was a challenge - Also with no car all the things that had been in the car (a lot of stuff) had to join me in the room - Thanks to Elgin Polis for climbing the stairs with all my heavy gear (the room was pretty full after that) - I had to stay an extra day and the staff were kind and rearranged things so I could stay in the same room. Then when the hire van arrived three wonderful women who work in the hotel carried all my stuff down those stairs whilst I drank a cup of coffee - I could not have done that with the injury I had sustained in the accident.... so it is a score of 50 out of 10... after all the bother I put these people too they might not let me back but I do hope they will the next time I am in Morayshire.
I liked everything
Great position close to the Beach & great views.Customer service was great from arrival, my evening meal & breakfastThe staff were friendly, helpful & attentive. The food was superb & well priced.
The location is perfect, we had a lovely sea view, bed was really comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean.I will definitely stay here again. We stayed for 3 nights and ate in the restaurant for 2 of those and the food was delicious, portions were huge and lovely fresh produce, really have nothing to be negative about.Staff were all really nice, welcoming and friendly .
I liked everything
Great location, food at restaurant was great and all staff were amazing.
Rooms aren’t the most soundproof so get noise from other guests
Beautiful location! Incredible view from our window. The staff were all very friendly and the bed was comfortable.
The room was much smaller than the pictures let on. The bathroom unfortunately had a smell of urine.
Clean comfortable and a good breakfast.
N/ADid not have time to order night before due to event to attend
Size of room. Paid extra for premium room so disappointed.Regular double also room extremely small. Staying for family event so not much time spent in rooms but would have been difficult if weather not good and plenty to do elsewhere..
Absolutely fantastic location. Sea view was brilliant. Welcoming staff. Clean and comfortable bedroom.
Advertised as king room but room was much smaller than expected. The bathroom was adequate size but really needed to be cleaned properly. Found hairs on the toilet , thick dust on pedal bin +floor ,shower sealant bad and dirty. Metal mesh thing near toilet was all rusty dirty and thick dust inside. I had to clean myself . More care needed by cleaner in the bathroom. Main bedroom was spotless.
Location was excellent. Even better if you happen to have a seaside view room i would imagine.
stairs too steep.Room too small. Not the stated 279 square feet, rather 130 sq ft including the en suite with its own walls.Shower pipe damaged and toilet paper holder hanging off the wall. In the room there is a wash basin connected wrongly with the hot water coming out the cold position.
There was a good selection of buffet items, yogurt, fruit cereal etc although the croissants were prepacked.
While the cooked breakfast was alright it was NOT very plentiful and my husband did not like getting a mug of tea and a teabag on the side he would have preferred a teapot
Excellent vegan food in the restaurant, lovely location next to the beach, comfy room
Wasn't a problem for me but worth being aware there are only stairs and no lifts
Our breakfast was fabulous, so was our dinner in the evening, location was fabulous and the view from our room was right down the beach was amazing.
Nothing everything was perfect.
The staff member was very friendly and efficient, the room was lovely and the location was amazing.
Fantastic location. It’s right at the beach, the room was very clean and had everything I needed. Even had a small fridge. Staff were friendly.
The walls are very thin and could hear the man in the next room snoring, could hear most movements of other guests and when someone flushes the toilet. For the price of the room it was worth it but wouldn’t be looking to pay more than the £98 I paid.
Great location, clean and comfortable and excellent food. Would highly recommend.
Had to work
Location was excellent with no problems parking. Staff were attentive and friendly. Food and drinks menu spot on too. Bedroom was a good 3* bedroom. Shower was very good.
I think the toilet wasn't on mains sewerage so made a noise when flushed. Obviously its nice to have a window in a bathroom but appreciate its not always possible.
Location was perfect. Breakfast very hood.
Needs 'doing up' generally. But the location made up for that.
