Pros +
- Staff friendly and attentive. Restaurant attached a contrast with OK food. Felt a little rushed though by staff and also the single traveller (have you booked etc). They need to do single covers... I know it's not the business that they'd prefer, but it all adds up.
- ...Some rooms bit dated ,and need referb , but hotel has a super swimming pool , restaurant is decent , with a wide variety on the menu , excellent parking and walkable to Whalley ,,, and railway station not too far away ... also very good value overall !! :)
- Great staff & food
Cons -
- Just extremely tired decor, out dated TVs. L.inen was possibly from 80s too. Surely they can do better here.
- excellent pool , lovely location , decent food .... good value :)
- No rails on step-in bath for shower. Serious issue. Could easily cause a serious accident. Cheap & easy to fit a couple of rails to walls at back and end of bath. Do it before somebody slips and gets badly hurt.

Fantastic location, room was very very clean, staff where friendly and welcoming and all at a great price. Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.
We booked two rooms as we were at a wedding at Mitton Hall the next day. This hotel couldn’t do enough for us and my elderly parents with access needs. We were both given suites and the service and staff were superb. Also, bar and and restaurant is excellent. Breakfas t was top class.
Location was handy
Looking a bit dated. Paid an early check in fee as we were there an hour early, room was ready so the extra fee didn’t seem fair. No staff around when we checked out, left the key on the desk, received phone call 15 minutes later claiming we hadn’t paid for breakfast when we hadn’t had breakfast.
The room was fantastic and proved for both my husband and myself, it was clean and had a lovely view from the patio. The breakfast was lovely and cooked fresh. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent, the service was prompt and the food was out of this world
There was nothing to dislike
Our room was not very clean. The bathroom was dusty. Shower had rust marks. Hair in bath and on tiles. The towel radiator had exposed wiring. There was a very old Corby trouser press in the dressing area that was covered in dust.
Nice place, nice breakfast nice room, great carpark
The mattress needs replacing. The springs on the left hand side when looking at the bed are worn, so it tries to push you into the floor. We were not told the doors would be locked at any particular time, so when we arrived back at 23:10, we couldn’t get in. We called the evening porter 8 times before we could get into the building. Left outside in the cold for 15mins. The porter told us he locked up early…again we were not told of a time that the building would be locked.
Private balcony Very good size room
Out dated decor / The rooms definitely need updating and modernizingTheres a live stream video of the pool that everyone can see when they walk past reception which seemed a bit creepy
Lovely hotel that unfortunately we only needed for one night for a local ruby wedding celebration so didn't get chance to experience all that it had to offer. What we did like however was the wonderful breakfast in the bar/restaurant area which was extremely clean and pleasant
Room although extremely generous size was a little dated
The staff were wonderful. The room was spacious. Food was delicious.
The bed was extremely uncomfortable for me, it was very hard. I prefer a firm bed but this was hard not firm.
Sadly, very little: the hotel has declined sharply in recent times.
A chapter of disasters. The receptionist didn't realise I'd paid in advance and charged me again. The manager picked this up and the money was refunded. Our room - 213 - was dimly lit and in a poor state of repair, the bathroom especially so. In the main room, for example, two screws were sticking out of the wall where, I suspect, a fixture had been removed. Originally laminated items of fixtures and fittings had been badly painted with a dull brown paint, some of which had been scraped away by use. Breakfast - for which we were charged - was over-priced. Indeed, the food overall, whilst OK, has declined over time: we've visited before on a number of occasions. We won't be returning.
Wonderful hotel with lovely helpful staff clean accessible room with outside space & view of grounds
Music from DJ was a bit loud in restaurant on Saturday night while having a meal
The bar. The size of the room
The mattress. Dated decor. Tap water was dirty
Excellent room with a supercomfortable bed and heating and ventilation that was easy to adjust
Breakfast wasn't included, was expensive, and not available before 8am on Sunday when I had to leave earlier.
Good location. Good room. Comfy bed.
Could do with a little tlc. Not the cleanest.
Absolutely fab, gorgeous room, amazing restaurant with super attentive staff. Great food on dinner menu and really good hot breakfast. Comfy bed, spotlessly clean room.
Could do with more towels in the bathroom and be a little more generous with the tea/coffee/milk in the suite.
Spacious room
No cosy bar open away from fishy smell in restaurant area, bed wasn't very comfortable
room was excellent lovely and big which was a surprise with a lovely separate area for watching TV with a nice comfy sofa also a nice big area for the wardrobe where the tea and coffee making facilities were as well the swimming pool was lovely nice and clean and for a change actually a nice warm temperature also the steam room was excellent unfortunately the sauna wasn't very hot not sure if there was a fault
the bed was nice and big but it was two large singles put together and they were also very very soft (i know its a personal choice but a bit firmer would have been nicer)the bathroom was again lovely and spacious but the shower itself had really poor water flow so it wasn't very enjoyable to stand under as it got quite chilly with no water really running over you
