Staff very accommodating..Went out there way to help... very friendly clean..Locals support the bar
Food menu not the biggest. And thats being picky as I cant fault this venue..
Friendly
Shower was cold no lift cold
Generally the staff were helpful
I was told on the second evening that no food was available but when returned from trying to find food off site a couple were eating! Also the shower didn’t work properly and when it did it was cold.
The location was perfect for our stay
No hot water and the room was dirty
It’s clean, well situated on the edge of town. Big car park. Great reception on arrival from Zara.
The en-suite shower to the cabin room doesn’t drain efficiently. There was a leak somewhere, possibly the radiator, that left water on the floor. Breakfast was lovely and hot, but coffee like warm, no fruit or options to the hot, cooked offerings.
Close to town. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed
Most staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was warm. The bed was clean and fairly comfortable.
The bathroom floor had dirty patches, bathroom radiator / towel rail was cold and loose from the wall. The water was cool first day and cold the next. The bedroom lights were idly linked so you could not fully turn off from bedside. The easy chair in the bedroom was worn, greasy and stained . The bedroom decor was in poor condition (apart from good bedding and curtains). The raised platform which the bed was placed on seemed dangerous - a trip hazard for anyone up in the night..
Comfortable, clean room. Good location for our purpose
Bit disappointed with breakfast as I like porridge but it wasn’t an option. Also would have preferred breakfast in a dining room instead of the bar area
Very friendly staff
The refurb was very patchy - sone bits are smart and new - others very tired and fraying. Water in shower was very weak and not very hot.
Disappointing
Room was dated and needed repairs. The room smelt of drainage. The shower was a waste of time.
Close to theatre
Went down for breakfast, to a dark dining room, even tho we booked breakfast chef didnt turn up, cleaner managed to get staff member out of bed, who attempted to cook breakfast, which when bought out was undercooked eggs, toast was just soggy bread, burnt bacon, complained and was told chef didnt realise he was meant to be on duty, spoke to reception asked if chef was in to cook breakfast the next morning to be told it was the same guy cooking that previously attempted to cook, we politely declined the breakfast, also there was no toiletries in our room, and had to ask for some, we booked a junior suite, but it was just a big roim with 2 chairs, not really a suite. receptionist zara was very helpful and freindly
Bar and restaurant closed
Manager / “director” refused to talk to use in the morning and stayed in the office
Liked our room - large bed and room
Hotel on a busy road
The staff were excellent the bar was very nice and the breakfast was also very nice
When my wife and I arrived for our 51st wedding anniversary we were told that the hotel could only offer bed and breakfast as they had no chef as I booked on the basis of it being a hotel as I would not have booked a b and b It is noted that we were not informed of this by email the day before but we were offered upgrades at extra cost the day before by email also no form of compensation was offered. On to the room the toilet seat was loose the extractor fan did not work and no window so unable to circulate the air. Also the shower mixer was all but seized solid no maintenance on these items in a very long time it would seem obviously not checked by anyone. In the room the bed was very comfortable but the decorations were done by someone with the imagination of a damp sponge under the carpet numerous floorboards were not fitted down and did not fit properly so it was impossible to walk around the room without making a lot of noise. The view from the window was of a unkempt yard overgrown and the back of annex buildings also in a very poor state of repair and onto access corridors that looked like the last time they were decorated was back in the 1970s I would not stay a this hotel again and will be very weary of booking with Best Western again
Easy to check in and out. Bed was comfortable. Room was a nice size. Shower was nice once you got the right mix of water. Walking distance to a Marstons pub.
Outside the window of room 15 is some kind of overflow water that you can hear all night. It also bangs once it filled and the process starts again. Kept waking me up as I’m a light sleeper. Didn’t notice it until we went to bed. Bathroom needs refurbishing as it’s has a water leak.
The hotel was lovely, it was clean and tidy and served our purpose well. The Staff were very polite and helpful. It had character. Our room had low ceilings and crooked floor boards, it was a lovely warm, cozy feeling room.
The check in was a computer, I struggled to find my booking. One of the ladies behind the bar was on hand happy to help thankfully.Very low ceilings and steep stairs (this is because i am tall, it's not necessarily a negative as it gave the hotel a lovely feeling and gave it a lovely character. Its more an FYI for tall people).
