Don't like dogs in restaurants!
Excellent location near the station and a short walk into the centre of town.Rooms very clean and quiet. Breakfast excellent.Fred parking.
Bed was avliiitoo soft for us.
The tap pressure. The bed was comfy.
The room was abit cold.
Ideal spot for us. Clean everywhere. friendly staff nothing to much for them most important to us they allow dogs the grounds are nice
Very friendly welcoming staffTraditional English hotelGreat water pressure for shower
Nothing of note
Clean convenient
Bathroom poor sink very low water temperature not hot enough in shower bathroom extract fan not working
Excellent location and good food.
Bed mattress was uncomfortable and we could feel the springs so not a good nights sleep. At breakfast which we hadn’t booked we were asked to pay before sitting down and deciding what we actually wanted. Not very encouraging.
Decent size deep bath. Shower water pressure was very good. Breakfast was good and fresh porridge was available. Friendly staff.
Mattress was of rather poor quality. Very bouncy.Mould on bath sealant behind bath taps.Cheap pressed metal tea spoon in room that was stained. Dirty TV remote.Only 1 of the 2 windows was double glazed.Electric Heating was rather poor under the double glazed window and the room was a little chilly.Ok room for the price I paid.
Firstly the staff are amazing, as I booked a dog friendly room, it was perfect, patio doors were so handy leading to an area to let Marley spend a penny with ease.comfortable bed, beautiful towels. Room good overall. Staff were the stars x
One down side water wasn’t hot, but that didn’t even make me complain
Lovely old details very friendly helpfull staff
The most awful bed I have ever had to lay in
Fair but disappointed, clean nice...
Staff could be friendlier, bed was extremely uncomfortable and we had mould on the cieling. Breakfast was ok apart from no hot water for tea and when we pointed it out, he knew. Slowest toaster ever
I liked everything about this hotel staff very helpful, friendly couldn't of been nicer food was also amazing. One of the best homemade pies I have ever tasted
Leaving to come home
Lovely lounge area. Comfortable. Clean. Great staff.
The location was excellent and the staff were very friendly.
The cleanliness of the room and the furnishing. The noise levels could be reduced. An improved breakfast would be great.
I love how the facility was clean and decorated in a modern way but the building was kept rambly and labyrinth-like. I love architecture and the country house feel to this hotel was just lovely. Fantastic location near the train station and grocery. Bookshop just a door or two down! Note if you are planning on walking into Chawton for the Jane Austen house --- this hotel is on the complete opposite side of Alton so it's a 2 mile one-way walk to Chawton manor. Made for a long, warm walk --- but fun, too!
The room was very warm. I stayed in June and with the sun beating in the window all day, it would have been nice to be provided with a fan and/or refrigerator to cool off with either air or a cold drink.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent location!
Room was a little tired, but still really good value.
Close to town and good parking available. Warm and comfortable spacious bedroom. Very clean and well appointed.
Our reserved table for lunch is the dining room was facing a gaming machine which was disappointing as it was very distracting rather than relaxing and spoilt the atmosphere. Otherwise everything in the hotel was very pleasant and we would stay there again.
