Location and friendliness of the staff

presented and welcoming hotel would expect from a nice area of main isle of white close to attractions. Recommend staying for the food also put on.

Comfortable room - good location - nice breakfast.

Electrical fault caused fire alarm in the early hours of the morning. Although it was dealt with well, it was quite worrying for my children.

Would keep us dry from the wheather if it rained.

Beds smelt very odd.Soap provided for cleaning your body was horrible.Rooms need to be cleaned better due to large hair ball stuck to my friends sock while walking arround the room so we wore our trainers.Shower area dirty.Breakfast food quality wasnt nice at all.We paid £70 pounds for 1 night including breakfast. Which we know is cheap and star rating was a 2 but did expect it to be alot better.In my opinion this should be a 0.5 star hotel.

Nice hotel , very friendly staff . This was my second stay at the Medehamstede, and both times have been very good. Conveniently placed to explore Shanklin and beyond. The evening entertainment was always a joy to come back to after a day exploring the island, and the breakfast set up was very well organised

The hotel was lovely and clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Did not like having to climb up 2 sets of stairs to reach my room on the 2nd floor. If I had known that before booking then I most likely wouldn’t have booked. Also the room I was in needs updating. The bathroom had a glass shelve which could not be used as it was sloping.

Great location, lovely sunny breakfast room and garden, lovely room with sunrise view. Very peaceful. On the debit side, my overhead light was broken and there was no soap upon my arrival. But overall, very pleasant.

Value for money - you get what you pay for!Location was good, not too far from the beach, 10-15min walk.

Very basic hotel but expected. Rate it a 2 star.

The breakfast itself was ok could of just done with a bit more on the full English just 1 bit of bacon and 1 sausage but it was tasty enough

Nothing i would change i think for the price of the room we paid we got what we expected the bed was very comfortable

Close to the beach and local shops and restaurants near by. There was a kettle in the room provided with tea, coffee and milk. Bare in mind if you don't want to travel with heavy items you can buy the items that is needed from the high street, 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Sea view from the room was amazing. A peaceful place to stay in, and I must say that local residents living there are very friendly and everyone always greets you. The train station and bus stops are also not very far.

With the room services the lady was very good in making the beds and cleaning the room for us, but had to always ask for clean towels.The 2 rooms that I booked for was good size but no soap/handwash and shampoo was not included.

It's easy to explore everywhere.& Very near to beach.foods are fantastic & also hospitality is excellent.highly recommend.

Hotel is a bit dated.

Perfect staff and location closed to the beach and shopping centre as well as the bus stop.

Lack of basic facilities for family like a small fridge for a chilled drink for kids. The price was a bit high for a 2 Star hotel. In general, everything was matched for a 2 star hotel.

Convenient location for work

Lack of water!! Poor water supply, shower actually stopped mid flow for at least a minute, making it very difficult to rinse off shampoo!! Taps in the basin the same! Hit and miss… Minimal parking available, had to park two streets away!

It was clean but very tired and damaged decor.

Bathroom was clean but the frixtures and fittings were old and unpleasant.
