Customer service by Lucas, location, cleanliness, parking convenience

Could be better to have a microwave in the room for family

Staff very friendly and helpful.

Cooked breakfast was good but continental selection was poor

Location was brilliant, room was comfortable and large, balcony was nice to have. Toilet was stained as it looked like it hadn’t been used in a while. We asked for room to be made up as we had run out of toiletries and tea bags, but they made the bed up and never left any top ups of anything. There was a party on the Saturday night and the music was very loud and people were a little rowdy outside the front of the hotel, but it did stop promptly at 11:30pm. So wasn’t too inconvenient.

Breakfast was very slow and both mornings the sausages were anemic looking and soggy, beans were cold on the second day.

The hotel is fresh and modern. I loved the decor and interior of my room. The bar/dining area is a pleasant place to have breakfast/drink. This hotel definitely stands out from its competition in the area - very few hotels on the island have the boutique appeal that this one does! The staff were also welcoming and friendly throughout my stay. Big kudos to the team!I booked the ‘Deluxe Double Bedroom’, which was room 26 on the fourth (top) floor. The room was clean and had all the facilities I needed for my three night stay. The bed was super comfortable and as a result, I slept very well! The bathroom was a large wet-room, perhaps not to everyone’s taste, but I liked it! The shower was powerful and I had no issues with water pressure/temperature. You are provided with a (very) small bottle of complementary shampoo and shower gel - perhaps bring your own if you are planning a long stay. The room was spacious and included a seating area, desk, fitted wardrobes, smart TV, and a standing fan. Room service can be provided, but you need to opt in for this. The hotel was very quiet during my stay. There is ample on-site parking, both to the front and rear of the hotel. The location is also perfect, with Shanklin beach and the highstreet a five minute walk from the hotel. Free WiFi is provided, but admittedly I didn’t use this as the mobile coverage was excellent anyway.I was very fortunate to get this room at a heavily discounted rate on Booking.com. It should have been £400 for three nights (27 - 30 December), but I managed to get it for £240 - roughly 40% off. I would certainly stay again if the price was similar to what I paid

The temperature of the room cannot be controlled. On my first night, the room was incredibly warm, so much so that I had to open the windows and turn on the fan (in December!). The windows remained opened throughout the entirety of my stay. It’s a shame that a building this modern doesn’t have air conditioning. Many of the apps on the smart TV needed updating (BBC iPlayer and Netflix, for example). In order to do this, the Google account holder (the hotel) needs to login and update the apps. It didn’t bother me too much as I ended up watching TV instead, but this is clearly an exercise that needs to be sorted for future guests. While breakfast was included, and as many other reviews on here have alluded to, it is very limited on options. The continental was essentially a small selection of cereals and bread - no pastries or fruit etc. I did opt for the cooked breakfast, but I will be honest, it didn’t blow me away. Sure, it might be acceptable to some, and it looks fancy on the plate, but all the ingredients were shop bought, and nothing was local/fresh. Don’t expect breakfast to WOW you, if you value quality. The cold water in the bathroom didn’t get cold enough to drink, just lukewarm at best. Nick-picking a bit here, I am not a fan of soap bars for washing hands, but each to their own.At the time of writing this review, the same room that I stayed in is being advertised on here at £211 per night! For a lesser price, you can stay at The Royal Hotel in Ventnor, which is renowned on the island, and you get an exemplary breakfast. To charge over £200 per night, out of season, seems like an incredibly steep price, and is perhaps over inflated, especially given the breakfast offering.

Loved this place! Lovely staff, lovely modern room. Short walk to some shops and pubs.

Loved the room, but if being fussy, the bed was a little small.

Very nice clean accommodation and comfortable staff very helpful breakfast well cooked

9FelicityPosted on: 12-2-2024

Very comfortable bed, friendly chatty staff who were knowledgeable about the island, things to do & bar recommendations. Lovely atmosphere & great food. The room was a good size for a short stay with enough sockets & mirrors with good light. A good shower in terms of pressure & temperature. Would definitely stay again. Thank you

You need to opt in for a room service if you want instead of opt out like other places. This wasn't highlighted so we missed out. Small thing perhaps but a perk of staying in a hotel.

Very clean hotel, friendly staff very comfortable bed and great breakfast

9KathleenPosted on: 11-18-2024

Very comfortable spacious room, great bed friendly hosts. Breakfast was excellent. Lift is a bonus. Nice bar and terrace area too. Parking easy and only a short walk to the town centre and beach (though out of season, so lift and cliff path both closed). Close to bus routes.

Would have liked some healthier options on the evening meal menu, but what we had was very well cooked. Again, we were out of season, so probably vegetable choices were limited.

10RichardPosted on: 11-18-2024

Clean, good location, nice facilities , friendly staff went out of their way to help couldn’t ask for more
