Pros +
- Excellent choice of breakfast menu. Large portions.
- A lovely location for a leisurely visit to the area. The staff were very attentive and mostly excellent. I felt that the hotel was more used to short stay visitors than to those staying longer. Walks in the immediate area were lovely and there were several hostelries to choose from with a cosy pub atmosphere if desired.
- Good location in lovely village. Understaffed when we arrived. Room small, but bed comfortable. Steps down to bathroom a bit dangerous at night
Cons -
- Bedroom 8 a little small with minimal gap between bed and wall to slide into bed!
- Noisy kitchen fan left on overnight
- Thought our roomPrice was excessive for the size of the room plus there were steps down into the bathroom which I found difficult

Friendly staff. Excellent service. We arrived late on a Sunday and the team went out of their way to provide food for us
Great room and meals
Noisy kitchen fan left on overnight
All good we did get the last room available back in September for our booking in late November which explains a lot as it was such a lovely place to stay . Definitely recommend and return ourselves .
Excellent staff. Good breakfast

Staff especially the ladie who worked breakfast shift on Friday 11th October excellent service but all staff where great .
Tv channels limited to 3 channels some times and they were bbc and sky news which I can’t stand so a little more variety butOverall great place to stay
Lovely home from home staff very kind and helpful a great atmosphere and scrumptious food
Only thing missing is more TV channels ie Netflix or Amazon
The breakfast was superb as was the morning service. I liked the fact that there used to be a night porter - it made me feel safe.
The description of the room was somewhat misleading. It was described as “King Room” but you had to drill into the fine print to see it described as a large double. There was nothing large about it. An ordinary double bed in a fairly small room. The lady on reception was off with us on arrival. Even though I had booked a pet friendly room she said she very negative about our dog. She told me there would be an additional charge of £15 and took away a throw from the room. No explanation as to why. When we tried to book dinner she told us there were no tables. We were happy to go elsewhere but when I popped back to collect something from our room there were loads of empty tables. Dog friendly - no chance here! Nothing was offered for the £15 charge - not even a dog biscuit.
The breakfast and the staff was superb. The location of the hotel is fantastic as Alnmouth is such a lovely place. We will return!! The wood burning stoves are very welcoming as are your charming staff
The carpets in up the stairs and along the corridors are very marked and stained and do not give a good impression. They need to be replaced.
Classy interior without being too formal
Biscuits not re filled…they were delicious ?
The location is wonderful (like most of Northumberland), and the food (both dinner and breakfast) was excellent. But what made this stay stand out was the staff - everyone was helpful and naturally pleasant. Probably wrong to single anyone out but Eloise was helpful throughout, and Jess managed to find time, while running a busy dinner service, to have a look at a problem with our television.
Beautiful place on high street in lovely Alnmouth. Lovely comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Walk to the beach and golf course Mabel our dog loved it too. Very friendly staff.
We seemed to be allocated a table round the back maybe because we had a dog but it was a bit dark and soulless. Best to ask for a table near the front. Room was quite warm at night after a hot day, luckily there was a fan but not a very long lead on it!
Great location on lovely Alnmouth . Comfortable room , with all the necessary things for a comfortable stay
Parking was limited but managed to find a spot a few mins walk away
Breakfast was very nice and the pub is lovely. Looked like very nice food although we only had breakfast. Room was stylish. Good coffee and tea facilities in the room.
Room number 8 is very warm, and the bathroom due to being internal smells. We paid £160 for a twin room for one night, which we think is overpriced for what we got. We won't be back for that price, unfortunately, especially with the room which must be above the kitchen or something because it was so much hotter than anywhere else in the building. They did have a fan in the room, but it only circulated the hot air.
The staff team were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, the bed was comfy and the location was great.
The room was warm and as it fronted on to the Main Street we were woken by deliveries on both mornings. We also had a window cleaner before 8am ok, if you’re not on holiday.
Good food and pleasant staff
The room was generally comfortable but the tea and coffee machines had to plugged in under a table that was hard to reach for more elderly people.
Rooms decor and the breakfast. Also location .
Parking as have to park on street as car park taken up by non residents who are just eating at pub.
