Cons -
- Room was small, although it was exceptionally clean and was very comfortable.
- We stayed in late January and the bar restaurant area was rather chilly. We were a party of 4 and after dinner we continued to sit and played cards but it wasn't a comfortable temperature. My feet were freezing by bedtime.
- Proximity of the gents.

Just be aware there is a double room situated next to the restaurant’s gents toilets, overlooking the car park.Room 3, which is what I got.Plenty good enough, but pretty small and we probably got put there because we had the dog with us.Anyway, the staff were faultless, the room was clean and warm, so all in all, good enough.
Proximity of the gents.
The food was amazing and the staff were lovely and helpful. Great place to stay overall.
We were in a front room which was on a main road and so traffic kept us awake.
Room was very small but well equipped and well presented. Breakfast was excellent as were the fish and chips. Staff were very friendly, cheerful and helpful.
A lounge area in the bar. the bar was an overflow of the restaurant so felt awkward taking up a space just for a drink. Two chairs in the bedroom so that one of us didn't have to sit on bed. Two cans of water in the room the night we arrived. Had to buy it the second night - £5 a bit steep!.
I read the reviews before and everyone said the staff were so lovely but couldn’t quite believe it but it was true, everyone was great if only all hotel staff could be like this! Credit to the owners/managers. Can’t recommend enough.
The rooms are small but we knew that. The bathroom in room 1 could do with a little tlc, just a lick of paint around the door frame (inside).
Comfortable with friendly staff, tasty food and very good value for money.
Our room faced on to a fairly busy road, which was a little noisy from passing traffic during the night, though the views towards the church and Largo Law were brilliant.
Staff were excellent, attentive and very friendly.
Some parts of the room decor need attention. Mostly fine though.
Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Food was good quality and excellent value.
The room needs a little TLC particularly the bathroom but it is an old building and that places limitations on any upgrade.
Clean, great staff and tasty food
Room (2) was very small. Not good value for money. Paint flaking and wallpaper peeling off a little in toilet. Food cooked to perfection, but portion size not great, (I had the large fish but I’ve had much bigger for less cost.)
CleanlinessAnd the food was good
Not so powerful shower, but it was still good value for money
Friendly staff, comfortable accommodation and great food. Second time staying with mum. We will be back. Thanks for another lovely stay.
Perfect location for a bus ride to St. Andrews. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast.
Small bathroom close to bed but would maybe book apartment next visit.
Good location and food was good
Our room was right next to the main road and you could hear the traffic through the night.
Billed 4 star hotel, but it wasn’t. That said, it was very clean and comfortable. Staff were exceptionally lovely and the food was amazing. The beach and gorgeous view literally a short stroll from hotel and plenty of parking.
The road noise was constant. Not much that can be done but it did affect sleep.
Restaurant. Evening menu and food was excellent and great value. Quilt on bed.
Room a bit small. Bed very soft. Loose attachments in shower room
Not to be booked in...
The windows and doors are old, extremely draughty and in need of repair. There was a storm the weekend we stayed which also joined us in the apartment. There was a water leak (perhaps from the window or through the wall) in the bedroom. The carpet and one of the twin beds was soaked and unusable. It wasn’t discovered until we were going to bed. When reported to the staff they offered clean bedding but as the bed and surrounding carpet were soaked, this was no help. We weren’t offered an alternate solution or room. They just said they’d let the day staff know. The next morning as we checked out, there was no manager available and the day staff said they would pass it on when the manager arrived. I was told they may offer a discount. None has been offered. I appreciate that this is an old building and with the charm that brings there are high costs in the upkeep. Perhaps some secondary glazing and door draught excluders would help.
Great food efficient and friendly staff lovely facilities everyone we dealt with couldn’t do enough to help as other have said breakfast is brilliant as were evening meals special mention for the sole dish
Upper Largo hotel was very clean.Coffee and tea provided and also 2 cans of still water and 2 tunnocs caramel wafers. Also the bath towels were quite big which we never have seen in another hotel before.Bed size was super king . Although, our room was over the main road ,it wasnt annoying noisy.
Bathroom was at the small side but at least there was one in the room
