    Pros +

    • It is situated in beautiful surrounds and designed that makes the most of it.
    • The breakfast was good. There was plenty of things to interest children.
    • A lot of things to do, a familiar and cozy environment

    Cons -

    • I was slightly disappointed that the swimming pool did not have longer opening hours but perhaps employing more staff would not be cost effective. I arrived later and needed to leave earlier than the opening times but had not noticed this when I booked.
    • The first room I was offered was as small as a closet. The bed was so bad I could feel springs I would not stay here. The bathroom was tiny. I paid extra to be transferred to another room. It was a little nicer and had a better bathroom. But terrible bed
    • The check-in process took about an hour due to a very long queue, which meant we didn’t have the opportunity to spend much time enjoying the facilities. Since the fun house closes at 5:00 pm and check-in only starts at 3:00 pm

Staff were friendly rooms were comfortable

waited over an hour in a queue to check in

    7NeilPosted on: 1-20-2026

All in all it was good value and the staff that we saw were nice.

The bars closed super early at 10pm which was a shame as we got back to the hotel just afterwards

Most important was one staff member JC who was very polite and helpful on more than one occasion. He saw me struggling with my bike and informed me of a secure area to park the bike. Also very helpful when I was waiting at reception, he found someone to assist. Also was available when I returned to fetch my bags. Great employee!I purchased a less expensive room since I was traveling solo. Smallest room I have ever booked. My opinion is that a hotel of this grandeur should not rent out rooms this small. This will harm your reputation. Plus, the walk to the room is ridiculously far but most importantly, the safety from fire is poor. The hallways are too long without exits. The windows are too small to crawl out. Could be very dangerous situation. Just charge a fair price for decent sized rooms and address your safety issues. Thank you, I had a wonderful stay in a lovely hotel with excellent staff!

staff very helpful and friendlynice location walking distance from Aviemore train station no doubt a good place to bring kids with lots to do and loads of space

I would have liked if i could have paid with cash as i had no bank card with me after having it go missing on me a few days before my visit

Beds were most uncomfortable. Pillows hard as stone. Front desk staff not welcoming. Gave me a hard time every time approached with a question. Had breakfast included and staff at restaurant didn’t have my name one day but had the second. Window opened weirdly so could not get in any fresh air. Also no screens so worried about bugs shower flooded bathroom. Asked for different espresso pods and got a lot of attitude from housekeeping. Rolled her eyes and didn’t even get the pod I asked for. Coffee and food was disgusting.

See above. Only good thing was woodshed which was lovely to eat and drink. People very nice. Wish music would start earlier. Location in woods good but too many outside lights.

    Location was good.

Room & bathroom not clean. Queued for 40 minutes to check in. No sockets were working in the room so couldn’t plug anything in or charge phones etc. Reported to reception that the room was cold. Was told they could put a portable heater in, but it never appeared.

Location clearly central for all sports and very much catering for families.

One particular member of staff was awful, aggressive , patronizing and called me a liar. Incident happened no manager present and refused to speak to us. This person claimed to be one and was not. Long time since I have experienced such rudeness. Electricity and water was off in hotel until 3pm. Hotel was overcrowded and noisy. If known how busy would be would not have booked. Only reason was a deal and see snow.

Clean, comfy room, great staff, good musical entertainment. Beautiful swimming pool with sauna.

The sauna and pool close at 4:30pm which is useless if you've just come down from a days skiing on the mountain. They need to stay open until at least 8pm especially the sauna for people who have come to ski.

    The area was amazing

It took one hour to check in and I was 8th in the queue of people. The desk wasn’t staffed well and forms had not been previously printed making the process even slower. It was very stressful and I also had my dogs with me who were getting stressed by all the people. When I did get to my room there were dirty socks on the floor.

The location was good, there was a nice bar and you are near several touristic spots.

Worst value for money, I have stayed in hostels better than this place for 1/6 of the price. The restaurant on site was also quite dirty and unorganised.

    6MichaelPosted on: 1-1-2026

The room was decent, had a nice view and was clean. Bar was also decent with a good selection of beers. And their welcome mince pies and mulled wine as well checked in was a smart move!

It felt like the facilities had really limited operating times. We were coming up for one night only so 3pm check in - but last entry for the pool was 4:30pm. And with check out being 10am, and first entry to the pool being 9:30am, its facilities don’t really work for people who are making a short stay. It feels like as a resort, the likely aim is for people to make the most of their entire day there - so really to get proper value from it, you would have to stay for 2 nights. They could really extend their hours on the pool and gym facilities.

I like that this hotel teaches me a lesson. A lesson that teach me clearly how a bad customer experience is.

No lift + no concierge service. There is no rooms at ground floor. All rooms are at level 1 and level 2. When you have more than two huge luggages because winter seasons and we need to pack more, you are on your own. The rooms are old. (Not dirty or smelly). The bed is small for two person. I believe it is a queen size bed only for two person. No water given in the room. No room service provided daily. Rooms can be noisy. The nightmare is at 10am on check out day, the house keeping team and some of the managers will bang your door and ask you to leave immediately. You will experience the feeling of driven out by Landloard. Never experience like this anywhere else before. The Starbucks at lobby is funny. The barista/staff makes the coffee very slow and all the customers had to request to make a new coffee because it tasted so bad. Saw booking.com rating were very bad before I made a booking with them but I thought it is just facilities are not modern and old - which I prepared to accept it. As this is facility is only available for booking. But the staffs and overall treatments/experience I got were horrible.

Love hotel location, pool, friendly staff, big improvement all over since September from check in etc. Congratulations to management the hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Very cozy bar, nice pool and sauna.

We had a family room for 4, and the room felt rather cramped., there was also no refrigerator in the room.

    8CatherinePosted on: 10-18-2025

The 4-person family room is lovely, with 2 separate rooms to give you some privacy and space.Tea and coffee facilities are supplied which made us feel at home. There was plenty of storage in the family room which is great for longer stays. We loved the pool facilities and I made use of the gym most days which was well equipped for a hotel gym and made me feel normal. The hotel is largely well located, although it's a little bit out of the main township so just be prepared to either bike or drive to go to restaurants and other activities - we booked with this in mind and everything was easy to access by car or bike. There are some gorgeous walks down to local lochs pretty much out the front door, and the walks are dog friendly. We personally found the staff to be friendly and largely attentive - they had a big bus of tourists arrived unexpectedly due to a storm that swept through and closed roads for tour buses, and we felt the staff handled this very well, especially when there were some disgruntled guests who were making things very difficult for them - well done team.A note for my fellow espresso martini lovers, they have it on tap! Excellent feature in my opinion.

We wish that things such as the minigolf and soft play would have been included in the price of the stay, as the hotel itself is quite pricey (we spent 575GBP or $1324NZD which we felt was quite expensive for only 3 nights), however we were pleased that the gym, pool and sauna were included. We think we were supposed to receive a voucher for a free drink on arrival (our family we traveled with did receive theirs), however we never received ours. I'm not sure if it's just because it's the off-season, but we found that whilst the hotel staff were friendly, they seemed to be understaffed (even after the big bus of tourists had left) and were often left waiting at the bar for 5-10minutes for service, with no service bell to ring to let anyone know we were there - for a hotel at this price, I would have expected more expedient service generally speaking. We did also find that housekeeping had not been thorough in their clean of our bathroom, although this was rectified quickly once reception was notified and we appreciated the quite response.

Good size/location and activities for kids

Fire alarm went off twice just as we had put kids to bed. No lift also meant leaving the pram downstairs
