Pros +
- Lovely room and dining roomGood location
- Wonderful room and view!! Staff lovely! Best location ever.
- The location was excellent and really close to all shops and other restaurants. The restaurant in the hotel was top notch and the hotel bar was cozy very good selection of beverages.
Cons -
- The bar area was very disappointing and dated. Didn’t seem very clean
- Our only complaint was the bed. One side had what felt like a spring or button that poked into your back and bed in general wasn’t great. Pillows were very firm.
- It would have been welcoming if the reception area was continually staffed. But it was a busy night there and it didn’t spoil our stay.

Good location, we had a quiet room which was spacious. Friendly staff.

Close to the ferry terminal, comfortable room, pleasant staff, food ok, easy parking
No view, long way to room, a bit charmless
The hotel is within walking distance to shops, cafes etc in Ullapool. The room was spacious, hot shower and good wifi. The breakfast was nice. We would stay here again
We had a view of the carpark
Perfect location for ferry port. Beautiful view down the loch.Friendly helpful staff
The hotel is set in a beautiful location. The room was comfy, the staff friendly and the food delicious
Good locationCleanGood breakfast
Great location
No entry until 3pm. Gave us the wrong room - gave our (more expensive) room to our fellow travellers putting us in a VERY awkward and embarrassing position - no offer of recompense. No lunch facilities- is this a hotel? The food was average at best and the waiting staff, when advised about poor food quality were just rude.
Staff is amazing, welcoming and letting you join the local community. Accommodating all wishes. Location is best.
Nothing to complain about
Clean and comfortable Staff very friendly
No radiator in the bathroom therefore cold and uncomfortable
The Royal Hotel is in an easy to access, beautiful setting. It is clean and well maintained.
Rooms are chilly, having just one register even in larger rooms. Many of us older folks would appreciate the option of an elevator or at the very least, assistance with luggage. Breakfast was a skimpy!
Bed was comfortable Room was clean
Radiator in bathroom didn’t work, so was cold
Close to the ferry for an early departure. Water was hot and beds were ok
Breakfast was very very average
Convenient location for ferry
Could not get adequate parking at frontWe arrived at 19.10 and assumed as residents there would be no problem in booking a table in restaurant Very surprised to be told that dining area closed at 8pm and staff did not appear to welcome and accommodate us but managed to get a table but the next couple who were also resident were refuse and told to go elsewhere to eatBreakfast was rushed as cooked breakfast was delivered before we finished our cereal There was no fresh fruit and not a welcoming experience This is not an acceptable experience for paying guests and a poor reflection on Scottish hospitality
We didn’t have breakfast but the meal in the evening was lovely. Disappointing that both langoustines and muscles were off the menu. Plenty of parking as we were on a driving tour.
Great spacious room, nice hotel with beautiful views, lovely food, great service in the restaurant.
The mattress was not the best, I could feel the springs.
Everything was comfortable and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent and the location wonderful too, with a lovely veranda overlooking trees and the shore.
Nothing - all spot on thank you!
Perfectly situated in the town. It was very clean and the staff were friendly and professional. The bar area was comfy and clean and again bar staff were lovely. Bedroom was lovely, bed very comfortable and room spotless.
