The room was lovely. The staff were super and the food delicious. Great atmosphere too with a lovely log fire

Our meal was exceptional, lovely staff too.

The bed was extremely hard, both my partner and myself woke up in the morning with bad backs!

Nice big room, big bed, big bathroom, a writing desk - always a good thing. With check in at 2pm and check out at 11am I consider that value for money and didn't feel rushed. Very comfortable overall.

Lovely spacious room. Lovely staff. Nice touches like homemade shortbread in room. Tea and coffee making facilities. Everything clean. Thank you.

Dining room was too bright, so lacked a bit of atmosphere. Food delicious.

Breakfast was not available. Cricklade is a nice village / town. Red Lion building is nice old and characterful,,,,,,,,,,

Room was grubby,,,,,uncared for. Dust and dirt apparent particularly in bathroom. Room not serviced on a daily basis so dirty towels had to be used again.

Location perfect for walking the Thames Path. Spacious room and bathroom. Nice dinner in the pub.

    Nothing bad to say.

The Location was great in a pretty high street.

It was damp and not very clean, no soap, no food on offer on Sunday evening or Monday morning.

We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment.Room 1 was very clean but dark. Bed was comfortable but sofa less so.It was not the room described on the booking confirmation - but not a problem.

The main problem for us (old people) was the noise. Beer barrels rolled around a 7.30 am on a Sunday morning and we could hear eery conversation in the room above.

Good location, helpful staff, extra large bed, beer garden

    No breakfast

Friendly and relaxing after a hard day's trek up the Thames Footpath. And it's almost on the track.

There was no breakfast in house, although there was a good dinner, but they recommended the Barista two minutes away and that was absolutely fine.

The pub, restaurant, service, food and drinks were excellent. The room was lovely and suited our 1 night stay.

The fire alarm went off at 2.30am, which we understand can happen. The odd thing was, that the residents (5 that came out of their rooms) were just stood in the courtyard waiting for some apology or explanation. I could see, what I assumed to be the manager and manageress, in the pub, turning off the alarm panel, but all I got was a 'hand-up' gesture, which I assumed that all was OK. At no point was anywhere inspected, so unknown to us, we had to assume there was no fire. Maybe an apology came to morning guests, but we had to leave at 7am.

Comfortable pub with a delicious dinner and fun atmosphere.

Ground floor accommodation with access to grass, for our elderly dog. Friendly pub environment. No extra charge for our dog. Great selection of local ales. One of the reasons for staying here was CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide Pub.

Nice old building with great rooms and great food

No breakfast but there is great cafe a couple of minutes walk away which was excellent

Beautiful room, staff were lovely, village is quaint.

Room faced beer garden so was a little noisy up to closing time.

    5TimPosted on: 5-5-2025

The room was clean and the bed was great. Nice and close to the pub. Food was excellent on Saturday night.

On arrival, and during Saturday night service, the staff were very blunt and not friendly at all. Even when heading to the restaurant, staff seemed to make everything difficult. We booked a table for 6 but then struggled to get seated because we hadn’t given a name with the booking although we had been in the pub most of the afternoon. Certainly didn’t feel welcome.
