    Pros +

    • Breakfast next door was great.
    • Location, comfortable bed, large room. Quick help for any problem
    • Great location, Room was great, nice to have proper tea and coffee! Very spacious , light and airy. Definitely would stay again.

    Cons -

    • Pillows need upgrading and the mattress was 5/10 for comfort.
    • Shower could use one safety bar and the floor was a bit slippery. A bit of trouble getting door code to work but was resolved in quick manner
    • If I was being picky, the toilet seat was loose and needed refixing. But did not really affect our stay .

The location was nice, I stayed in the Lady Elizabeth suite located off the courtyard and 1st floor. The area was quiet because it was secluded off the main road. You are next to a cafe if you want food and a 2-minute walk from Morrisons for groceries. The Main room had everything you needed and gave a homely atmosphere, with the mini kitchen with a fridge, kettle, tea, coffee, and microwave. Some hangers were provided for the open cupboard for easy access. There were wardrobes where you could place folded clothes, there was a place to sit and have coffee and chat. There was also the hair dryer on the top shelf which was nice to have. The bed was good and comfortable with the window above which allowed natural light in. All rooms were fitted with blinds that worked. The bathroom was kitted with toilet rolls and spare rolls in the under-sink cupboard with hand soap and body wash provided, you would need to bring shampoo. There were towels provided for the face/hand/body. Generally, there was plenty of space in the bathroom.Overall great stay and communication with Daniel who replied in a fast manner to answer any inquiries.

Minor things. If you have luggages, be careful of the steps on the way up to the Lady Elizabeth suite as they're quite steep. Getting into the room was confusing at first, the doors are accessed via codes and the code input for the door is sensitive and took me 2 minutes to configure out the door input. There were lots of cobwebs above the main door to the entrance of the room. I think there could've been more tea/coffee/milk for longer-staying customers. Other than that I would highly recommend for a couple days stay and for gallivanting around the area.

    Ok

Cleaning and general care. Heating not working. No mattress protector -- blood stains on mattress. Two "glasses" , one a cheap champagne glass and the other a plastic tumbler.Digicode entrance was a joke. We couldn't get in. Had to call for new code.

we liked the proximity to Newark downtown

We didn't like the issues with no parking on the street. The worse thing was the damp in the bathroom, damp patches were visible on the walls and the room smelled musty. The last night of our stay I had to put on a fan as the damp smell was almost overwhelming

Great location. Perfect for exploring Newark. Useful kitchen area with small fridge and microwaves, bowls cutlery and plates etc

When we arrived there was only one cup, no shower gel and no hairdryer, so whoever cleans and checks the rooms needs to do a better job, but Daniel (the caretaker) was very helpful and sorted out all the problems very quickly and with a smile!

Nice location Character buildingsurprising big space Clean

Rickety poor quality sofaClicking fan in bathroom Broken bedside lightTiny bathroom Loose loo seat Poor quality bed and bedding Access is cumbersome. Needing to use a code. Code pad to room . Number missing Tea and coffee facilities did not cater for lactose free requirements Soap dispenser in the shower was loose off the wall WiFi intermittent TV. Signal poor

    4ApichayaPosted on: 9-15-2024

Room size and bed were as per expectation

Shower wasn't working. No instruction on how to turn on. Heater. Owner did not help to solve shower problem even when confirm to send someone in early morning. Glasses were dirty. Body soap in the bathroom was not filled up.

Great location in the centre of Newark. We had three rooms, all spacious. Two rooms had a kitchen area within the room, one had a separate kitchen off the bedroom. There is also a small dining table in each room. Tea/coffee/crockery provided. Shower, toilet, kitchen area clean. Beds comfortable. One of my party had problems accessing the room due to sensitive key pads but on contacting Daniel (late at night) he quickly sorted it.

Although facilities very clean, floors and skirting could have done with a sweep/vacuum. The property isn't staffed and is self check in with six digit codes for room key pads provided on the day of travel; my room wasn't in the main building but accessed from the rear courtyard and when it was dark the security light came on as you started to ascend the stairs but didn't stay on long enough to enter the six digit code so needed a torch. One of my party had a damp bathroom causing a bit of a smell.

    Centrally located, clean.

Like a lot of hotels now the windows didn't open enough but they did provide a fan to make up for that.

    9GaryPosted on: 8-23-2024

Great location, very comfy room and had all main facilities eg, tea coffee fridge hairdresser, was a very nice stay

Maybe an iron and more coat hangers needed

    8PhilipPosted on: 7-25-2024

    Great location, spacious room

Couldn’t adjust the shower was just very hot. Window blinds not brilliant for keeping light out in the morning. TV poor signal

    8ElisabethPosted on: 7-24-2024

it was convenient for the station and a nice building. There was plenty of space.

    8RichardPosted on: 7-5-2024

No breakfast inc but facilities inc small fridge/toaster & microwave + area all fine and basic tea and coffee/milk too

Shower slightly erratic in becoming very hot but perhaps me not operating it efficiently ! Another pillow or two perhaps ?

    Great central location

Lack of room in the bathroom of our roomLack of communication of entry codes by Booking.com

    3SophiePosted on: 5-30-2024

The location was great. Very convenient.

The cleanliness of the rooms were very poor and some of the fixtures (TV, lamps, soap dispenser and tap in the shower etc.) and furnishings were loose. I expected a lot more than what we got.

    4IrinaPosted on: 5-30-2024

    Disappointing

The TV fell off the wall. We managed to catch it "during the fall" so luckily nothing else happened...It was very badly attached to the wall which makes it super dangerous. While going into the bath tub it tipped to the side. So obviously the bath tub isn't secured well enough as well. There was a huge mold spot in front of our window in the main bedroom.

    9JeremyPosted on: 5-30-2024

    Lots of character

Ground floor room was bit noisy due to beer festival

    8AlanPosted on: 5-26-2024

Room only. It was an executive suite, with a separate lounge. Lovely rooms in a lovely building opposite the registry office where we attended a wedding.

Hand soap not provided. Bathroom a little cramped. A few cobwebs. Microwave left in a filthy state by previous tenants, presumably unnoticed by cleaner.
