Pros +
- Beautiful property in a nice quiet location set back off the rd, really nicely presented and comfortable with lovely friendly staff, always enjoy staying here
- Large spacious comfortable room. Very clean, had a great night's sleep. Proprietor friendly and helpful.
- Staff are very friendly and helpful
Cons -
- There isn’t anything to dislike
- The only negative thing is access to the M4 during the morning rush hour. It took me the best part of 30 minutes to do the three miles to the M4 at 8am. Otherwise a fantastic location and place to stay. I'm certain outside of peak morning rush hour there's no issue getting to M4 quickly.
- Buffet breakfast is limited (cereals/fruit/yogurt/breads etc)

Lovely bedroom overlooking the garden
The shower was stuck on very hot soImpossible to use and staff just said oh dear when I told them. Very expensive hotel for such poor service
breakfast, location, bar, food and hotel excellent
Lovely little hotel set in beautiful grounds
Unfortunately, breakfast is served too late to allow eating and getting to where I'm working in time.
The breakfast was a. Standard British Breakfast but the food was cooked well. Also available was breakfast bar with cereals, milk and fruit juices .
There lacked shower gel in the showerCubicle and there was two bottles ofShampoo. One very small tablet of soap at the sink
Excellent location for Green Park. Parking was easy and staff super friendly
Room never warmed up even after turning radiator thermostat on. It went off late evening.

Lovely old hotel. Lovely gardens and nice countryside location. Very well kept. Nice restaurant and great food for both breakfast and dinner.

The staff was friendly, wifi was great. Plenty parking. was very noisy during the day.
Old building, narrow stairwell. Breakfast was limited, no baked beans available. No Vegan sausages. The breakfast was not sumptuous. Not budget friendly for a family run hotel.
Beautiful building and groundsEasy access to A33 into Reading and the M4Friendly owners …excellent communication before arrival. ‘Traditional family run’ hotel …not a corporate hotel.
The shower could have been better but bathrooms are currently being updated.
Breakfast room is lovely. Otherwise quite an odd experience.
A lot less creaks and strange old equipment, noisy extractor fan in bathroom, flickering bedside light. would be great at halloween i imagine.
The hospitality by the host, the countrysite atmosphere. Perfect bed.
Could have been 1 or 2 degrees warmer in the hotel.

It was very cosy and the staff was very accommodating. The room had a beautiful view of the garden and the place overall was spotless.
Far from the city, but if you have a car, it shouldn't be an issue
This is a quiet rural hotel which we could see would be perfect for a wedding. It was our Anniversary and we were given a room upgrade on arrival. We don’t mind busy hotels but this one had very few residents and we enjoyed the relaxed calmness this generated. Dinner and breakfast were lovely.
I rarely sleep well on the first night of a hotel stay, and this was no exception. However the room was very comfortable so no complaints.
Very quite in the middle of the country side which was great to visit and family and friends
The breakfast was not great
Stayed here many times and will do so again, good blend of anonymity and attentiveness. Great food, lovely grounds, great location.
Wi-Fi could be better
