The food is amazing, coupled with free WiFi You have got to try the Fish n Chips.

First two nights were noisy with music. I love music, however, this was loud and late.

This was our penultimate stage of our Northumberland Coastal Path walk and we were very tired when we arrived, having walked 18 miles instead of the estimated 11 miles due to planning error. The staff greeted us with kindness, our bags were already sorted and we were able just to relax.In the morning, the breakfast menu was extensive and the food good and plentiful. Again the staff looked after us well.

All was good. Shelving in the bathroom for vanity cases would have been the icing on the cake.

It was somewhere to stop the night.

Whilst you couldn’t call it dirty it was perturbing to find the previous guests towel on the back of the bathroom door. The rooms are just a bit dated and tired. Breakfast was in the bar area, food ok but the cutlery and tables weren’t that clean.

Some of the decor in communal areas needed attention, eg painting, carpets replaced in the exit area.

Quiet location, quiet room,comfortable bed, good sea view from window. Plenty of free parking nearby. Good bar food, good breakfast. Lovely friendly staff.

Breakfast is served from 9.00 a.m. although the chef did cook me something at 8.30 a.m. This is no use to business travellers. Also, the barmaid put ice into my single malt whisky without asking. It ruined it for me.

Had a sea view, breakfast freshly cooked to order and fish and chips were excellent.

The shower had a poor flow and temperature went from freezing to scolding. Kettle needs to be bigger as mugs were huge so could only fill one cup at a time. Need hooks in the bathroom for towels. Walls quite thin as could hear the neighbours conversations.

Size of room was good and excellent breakfast. The service and food were fabulous with our evening meal. Nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely room. Excellent view. Delicious food. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The bed frame prevented my husband from being able to stretch his legs out, he's 6 foot 3, so he didn't sleep too well. Otherwise all was great!

Pub fare really good value, congratulations clare the chef.Needed an early start so management and staff accomodated an early cooked breakfast, thank-you

What's not to like

Ver friendly welcome and warm room full assistance offered with bags etc. Great view and parking plentiful.Bottle of water in room something Marriott failed to offer.good wifi

Stair carpet would benefit from a clean but refurb is happening.due to refurb scaffolding spoilt the wonderful view but completely understandable.shower, despite a quality bathroom, was a bit bit feeble however hot and ok just did not match the expectations of the bathroom quality.

All of the staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. I had a good quality evening meal and the breakfast was exceptional. The room was clean and comfortable, great bed, great shower. I had a very good sleep and a great view of the North East coastline thrown in for free! Overall my stay way exceeded my expectations, initially I booked because the location suited my specific visit and the price was very good, within the band I consider budget. What I found was a very enjoyable stay with everything I would expect in a place that I had paid 30% more for so value for money was outstanding.

I genuinely didn't find anything that I did not like. The staff were all so open, friendly and helpful that I'm confident if I had any grumbles they would have been handled quickly, but I can't confirm that as there were none!

Shower not really good - no fridge in room - no elevator - a bit remote - their whale fish special is way too big I couldn't finish it. Not much bout Vera only one picture!

Beautiful location overlooking the sea. The staff were warm and inviting and the room was exceptionally clean and cosy! Breakfast was included and was well presented and flavourful.

Not much on Site parking but the street parking was free and lots of parking space available

Nicola was very friendly and welcoming. We had one evening meal and two breakfasts, all of which were excellent. The room was clean, tidy and very comfortable with lots of space.We were travelling with two large dogs. The staff were all friendly and accommodating towards them and on Sunday morning they were even given a sausage for breakfast, which they loved!

It’s location was perfect for where I was working for the week, out of the way in a village.The bed was very comfortable.

The Wi-Fi didn’t work on a night time as my room was” to far away from the router” . In the morning it was working, too many people on the router ….The TV was fixed flat in the corner of the room. They advertised breakfast included, however it doesn’t start until 9 …. Nothing on the website said breakfast times.I paid for the breakfast but didn’t get any, they did offer to try and organise a packed breakfast , which I declined. And the room bin wasn’t emptied daily, by the end of the week I had an overflowing bin.

The fact they advertise Breakfast but then don't serve until 09:00-11:30. Absolutely useless for those working. I find it frustrating that it's not easily visible when booking as we would not have chosen to stay had we known or option without Brekfast!

the staff, the food, the cleanliness of rooms. I've stayed twice and plan to again in the near future.
