Pros +
- The hotel itself was very quaint.
- Welcoming staff, great food. Perfect room for us and the 2 dogs
- I did not eat at the Walnut Tree but did have a drink in the bar. There were other eating food which looked acceptable for a bar menu. The staff were very friendly and not overpowering but made me feel very welcome. The room was clean and comfortable and everything worked as it should have. Excellent value for money with ample parking.
Cons -
- No toilet paper in the room and unable to find anyone to get any. Kettle cable bare wires showing. Drinks tray dirty.. No breakfast ,which was part of the deal. No WiFi code or any other written info in the room.
- The hotel had only just been re-opened a couple of days before we arrived. There was only one member of staff looking after the bar and the whole hotel. Although he did his best to accommodate us, it was far too much for one person to handle.
- There was nothing I did not like it was all as expected.

Location a value suited me
Room was cold and I couldn’t turn heating on independently. I had to wait for the main building time to turn on. It was only on for about 3 hours and it was January - chilly. I also expected the pub to be open but it wasn’t - odd on a Tuesday.
The location
Everything staff very unhelpful, staff not interested went to see them because we were unable to log into their internet basically shrugged their shoulders and didn’t resolve the issue so we changed hotels. When we checked in no toilet rolls in bathroom room was freezing, the bathroom was like a cupboard, although food was advertised no were available. I would definitely not stay here again
I was a very late check in so it was helpful to just have a code and let myself if.
Could not access the WiFi. I hot spotted off my phone. No breakfast. Unusual set up with patio style glass doors to the bedroom.. was a little confusing to find room at first.
Good facilities, friendly staff, great food downstairs and welcoming overall!
Mattress could do with being changed as the springs sounded very worn and there was an intermittent water dripping sound every 5-15 minutes throughout the night.
Na
Radiator and hot water not working.no evening meal.wifi did not work in room.kettle did not turn off.no usb socket
Lovely room and shower, very spacious and clean
Nothing to not like
Handy for the event I was attending
Cold / damp / tired
Room and bathroom clean
Very tired reception, bar. Uninteresting menu so didn't eat. No atmosphere, no wifi reception in bedroom.
Friendly staffGood foodCleanRoom was niceNice location
Mattress a bit cheap and cheerful but ok.
Very disappointing
The accommodation was dirty including mud all over the carpets and the facilities were very poor quality. We checked out within 20 minutes of arrival.
nothing run down
dirty carpet run down room tiny tv had to ask for a refill toilet roll and tea and coffee had to ask to have heating put on room was freezing had a meal there which was not great and while we were eating a dog peed on the floor next to us
I didn't eat there but the location was great.
The cleanliness of the room, the bed was very uncomfortable, the stains on the floor and pillow, main light that didn't work and the room was freezing. Had to sleep in my shorts and hoodie.
Comfortable bed
No breakfast, bar closed before 8.30pm, carpets filthy, saw no staff apart from when checking in late afternoon. Doors all locked still when we checked out at 9am. Shocking
The room is in a seperate block from the pub (I'm not sure if that's the same for all of the rooms) has its own access door from the car park, and the pub does great food and was full of lovely friendly people.
The room's a bit tired - lamps not working, bathroom cold. OK for the price I paid though.
Village location
Freezing outside and radiators on a very limited frequency timer and not working in 1st room, mattress unsleepable on in 2nd room, 3rd room barely warm. No staff available to assist residents in anyway from 2000-1500.No WiFi in hotel whatsoever. Only 1 channel on tv reliably working. No ice behind bar. No apologies when complained about any of above just another room key. Apart from this great VfM.
Nice and quiet
Dirty carpet and cracked sink
