Good room, location in central Yeovil.
Staff not very welcoming, more a glorified pub than a hotel.
Food, and the friendliness of the staff.
The room was in the stable block: small, and old battered furniture. Always try to be in the main building in future.
Comfort of the bed.
Service was very slow. Clearly under-staffed.
Local to where I needed to be. Polite staff, nice food
Room was a bit worn out but comfortable enough
The old building and bar area are pleasantly decorated for Xmas
I was put in ‘the stables’ accomodation next to the main building through the car park. Desperately in need of a refurbishment. Tired, dirty and dilapidated sadly. Room 44 had mould around the bath / shower and marks and scuffs to all the walls. Bedroom window wedged shut with a lump of wood. Stains to carpet etc
Good location & Breakfast.
Room was rather tired!
It was a convenient location for a venue we attended this is our second stay here
Dated carpets and shower
The roast dinner ,turkey, was very good. Also the continental breakfast.
The single room was quite small.
Central location with parking and good facilities
Nothing really
Great location
Room very basic and tired. No sockets next to bed, no stool at dressing table, no soundproofing in the stables we could hear the room above moving around
Parking was easy. Karen on reception was very helpful and welcoming. Carolyne and her restaurant colleagues were superb. Very clean, comfortable room. Excellent stay. Thanks
Lack of a lift but it is a very old building.
Location was excellent with plenty of parking.I didn’t dine in the restaurant so cannot comment on food.
Room needs to be re decorated and heater was quite shabby, but it was just a bed for me as I was out all day so it didn’t really bother me.
Good
The only fault I could mention really, was coming back to my room on the 2nd day I couldn't find a cup to make a cup of tea. I happened to walk into the bathroom and it was sitting in the sink. Still stained from my morning cup of tea, with the spoon still in it. Not a big thing, but made me think what else was missed.
Room good, food very good, staff very helpful.
Rooms rather hot !!
From our arrival, all of the staff were really pleasant, friendly and welcoming. The hotel has character, it's an old building, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast has a good range, fresh fruit and pastries and also the warm breakfasts were very good. The pub has a great outside area, lovely and welcoming inside, a good range of drinks also.We were kindly upgraded, and room 7 was a great size, v comfy large bed, good sized bathroom and all v clean. We stayed on a weekend and there wasn't too much noise either coming from the pub exit below which was good
The location is very central and the staff are friendly. The connected bar/restaurant provides good food and drink at reasonable prices.
The rooms in the hotel are not good. Whilst beds are acceptable poor and decaying decor is norms being effectively maintained. The electrical system would appear to be out of date and possibly unsafe (round pin plugs) with test stickers dated from 2019. Bathrooms are poorly maintained with poor ventilation and black mould in some areas.
The hotel was lovely, clean, and comfortable. In the shower, you need a mat as it is a bit slippy under foot
There was nothing to complain about
The full breakfast was lovely, the nicest I've had in a long time and plenty of it. You could also help yourself to anything else on the buffet if you chose this option. The continental option on the menu was a little bit disappointing for choice but still nice. The single bed in my room was very comfy and the sheets were clean. This hotel is in a very good location for the town only a short walk away
The bathroom floor in my room was very creaky and the shower wasn't cleaned properly. It needs an overall refurbishment/update. Bedroom was basic but functional.
food was OK. Breakfast was nice despite having no pastries left at 8.30 on day one
the french windows to the garden were constantly being opened by smokers going in and out of the garden. It got a bit chilly as most didnt close the door properly behind them this was actually a fire door so they left it ajar as the wouldn't have been able to get back in if they had shut it properly!
