Cons -
- The confusion regarding payment. We had booked a dinner bed and breakfast price but choose to eat off the wider menu. There was no allowance made for this in the price so in effect we paid twice for a proportion of the meal. Morally this is not right. Should have just booked b and b.

- Some pastries for breakfast to boost the non-cooked options so as not to have cooked breakfast every day.

All members of staff were very attentive and friendly and made us feel welcome
Some pastries for breakfast to boost the non-cooked options so as not to have cooked breakfast every day.
The breakfast was well presented and cooked but choice was very limited
The accessible wet room was a bit shabby and unexpected as we were not told it was this type of room when we checked in as I would have preferred another room if one was available.
The friendly efficient staff, lovely food, and a nice airy hotel.
Food very good and location very nice
The details said that the room had Air Conditioning, which is is incorrect. The room was very hot at night and when i asked about the A/C in the morning i was told that there was a (very large) A/C unit in the corner of the room behind the wardrobe with a loose duct, which needed to be picked up and carried to another corner so that it could then be plugged in ! There was no explanation of this beforehand and given the size of the unit i am not sure whether i could have lifted it in any event!
Friendly staff, quiet room, big walk-in shower, good cooked breakfast, ample parking.
Rooms a bit tired. Grotty grouting in shower. Little choice of cereal/fruit at breakfast (no muesli or oranges).
Everyone was super friendly and relaxed.Good breakfast but would have been good to have more different fresh fruits, granola / muesli/ also some better bread, smoked salmon was too salty.Great bathrooms and really appreciate the properlynon slip shower room floors
Good location. Warm welcome. Comfortable room. Excellent staff. Delicious breakfast
Great location in a beautiful village. Liked the book on local history in our room. Comfy bed. Excellent breakfast.
Not so keen on the dog decor or view of a conservatory roof in room 7.
Good.
We did not anticipate having a wet room. There is nothing rrong with the room but despite our ages, mid 80s, we are fortunately not disabled. We have a walk in shower at home and prefer that as a facility. We felt that the hand basin in the room was inadequate for our requirements. We expressed these opinions to the owner as we left, not as a complaint but more as feedback. He explained the legal requirements he has to provide in relation to the wet room and told us that the hand basin is a safety feature for a guest if they were disabled in any way.We understood his explanation but our personal preference would have been a more convential type of room.
Comfortable , good food and welcoming staff
the drain in the bathroom was a bit smelly
In a very pretty village. Lovely building. Easy parking. Nice friendly welcome. Bright airy room with a lovely view. Great power shower. Lovely outside space for a pre dinner drink. Dinner was delicious, as was breakfast, with a good choice of dishes.
Nothing- all good
Lovely staff, super comfy bed, excellent restaurant
Lovely staff, super comfy bed, excellent restaurant
The location was quiet which is what we wanted. The food was good especially the chips. The room was a good size and clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
A bigger lounge to have a drink in before dinner.
Good hotel, Excellent breakfast. Good dinner menu, though it is being simplified and is decent value. We have stayed here a few times, as it is convenient - and they are having a tough time to keep ahead of the competition. The bar walls are used as something of an art gallery, and the offerings need to be changed (some are old, some are painted to a recipe, and some of the sculpture is not quite good enough - and the prices are aspirational).
A couple of things showing their age (e.g. sheets, towels, some room fittings).
Excellent breakfast and Sunday lunch.
Initially our room was very cold until we found how to put the heating on.
As always, a great place to stay. Lovely welcoming; great food; lovely rooms.
