    • I stayed at this hotel last year and was very impressed and chose it again this year. It is an older building, however the rooms are modern, beautifuly decorated, and the bathrooms are all modern fixtures.I chose it for the proximity to the trainstation and the ability to walk a short distance—a couple of blocks, and be in the middle of the city. The rooms are large, stayed on 2 different nights between coach tours, so had 2 different rooms. Both rooms had a huge bed, very comfortable and a sofa. The room included a mini fridge, always appreciated when traveling. Plenty of storage and a fantastic bathroom. Staff was very pleasant at check in and out. Good value for the stay. A resturant is adjacent, however we did not use it. Getting into the city center was just a couple of blocks from the hotel and just yards from the train station.
    • Lovely room lovely staff just wished I'd bought some coffee as couldn't get hold of any in morning x

Location good, clean room lovely comfy bed

No breakfast served, and hotel sempt abit like a half way house, on arrival girl was being dropped at side door with her belongings in bin bags, unsavoury people hanging about outside asking for money and cigarettes every 2minutes, lots of noise at night,

    8ChristinePosted on: 3-31-2025

Clean accommodation, easy to access and close to the station and town.

    Location lovely room

    Shower main head didn't work

It was conveniently close to town train station and the venue we were attending. The room was clean and you get what you would expect for the price.

The mattress on the bed could do with being changed was a little uncomfortable and the room was very warm with the radiator making a noise as well but wouldn't put me off staying again. Signage could be better with regard to entering and exiting the building as was a little confusing

Great spacious room, nice large bed. Great location.

The bathroom could have been just a little bit bigger, but that's not a major criticism

Location perfect for our visit to theatre. Parking ok

4 poster bed lovely but mattress too soft for our personal taste.

    Location, value for money.

Very Quirky layout which I found a bit unsettling.

    5JuliePosted on: 2-17-2025

Room was clean and tidy and staff helpful.

Unable to get breakfast at the hotel and restaurants not open for evening meal. Luckily restaurants not too far away but majority closed on a Monday evening.

Great location, hassle free check in, spotlessly clean, free on site parking and a fantastic restaurant, recommended.

Great last minute booking when found ourselves in the area unexpectedly. Great price for the room. Lots of space. Beautiful looking bed. Clean. Ensuite bathroom.

The mattress was very soft and so I didn't sleep too well and woke up a little stiff and the soap in the shower didn't clean very well. Other than that, needing a room central, so last minute, this place did the job.

    Leaving

Drab dirty entrance. dirty corridors in need of complete decorating. Original room which I rejected was well worn and torn box room for £90 disrespectful to guests. Members of the public across the street yelling at occupants of hotel during the night and very early morning. No eatery attached .COMPLETE DISGRACEFUL SHAMBLES

    The location and the bathroom

Old decor on ground floor, not very inviting

    4HannahPosted on: 1-6-2025

Great location, very close to train station and the free parking spot was a bonus as I’d travelled down by car. Receptionists were really friendly and helpful. Bed was clean and room was warm, and the bed was comfy. Iron, ironing board, towels, and tea/coffee provided.

    - Police in attendance at a room nextdoor from 8-11pm. No offer to move rooms from management.- Mismatched and dated furniture.- Moldy silicon in the bathroom.- Empty minibar.- Old Artex wallpaper, peeling in places.- Waterfall showerhead wasn’t connected up and several fixtures would fall off.- Cold bathroom (towel rail but no way to turn it on as thermostat was bent/inactive).Other misc things to note:- TVs are not smart TVs so no way to watch streaming services, live freeview only.- Phone number of hotel goes to a bar/restaurant that claim not to be affiliated with the hotel.

I loved how quaint and slightly old fashioned the room was and yet how modern the en-suite is. No issues at all with the shower and toilet facilities. Bed is super comfortable and appreciate there is a fridge available to use, which I indeed did use.

I'm probably being a cheapskate and comparing my stay to a cheaper hotel room from the night before, but I did pay more for a room last minute that I stayed less hours in. I am maybe suggesting something more than necessary, but it would be good if hotels could offer variable prices given how late someone books from the check in time available and especially if said customer is just looking for somewhere to shower and rest. Apart from that, nothing was an actual issue nor a negative impact on my stay.

When we were transferred into the correct room, it was nice and well decorated, the bathroom was spacious with a lovely shower with different settings. The one advertised definitely matches the price.

We were originally put in a Deluxe King Room that didn’t match the photos on booking.com. There were burn marks on the carpet, the bedside table lamp shade was torn, there were cracks in the walls. The bathroom was very small, mould in the top corner of the shower, and the shower door didn’t close properly. Once transferred into the room which was advertised the heating wasn’t working correctly but they did provide a space heater for us. The original room definitely was not worth the money we paid.
