- Location is excellent and parking is free (if you can get a space)Staff are helpful and friendlyFood in the restaurant was good.
Cons -
- We had taken a room which includes double bed and a single bed.We didn?t use Staff are non friendly. Very arrogant. Room cleaning not good No sheets were changed. They had given the take away food in used containers
- Room was a little dated and needed some TLC.
- First room (205) toilet was very dirty and the TV had sound no picture, I was changed to room 208 where there was black mold around the bath, a dirty toilet, crumbs left on the table, stained bedside lights that didn't work and a rusty not sure what it was on the ceiling in the bathroom, the room was really hot in the night with no way to turn down the heat however the TV did work.

Nice friendly hotel, needs updating but was clean and served a nice breakfast. Staff lovely and friendly. Great location and free parking.
Only downside which didnt affect our stay was the outdated furniture and in the room we got breakfast seats could do with a good scrub.
Warm , large comfortable room, excellent spa lovely bar
Everything! Nice clean room, nice food and lovely staff, great position for hotel, just perfect, great comfortable bed great shower!!
TV was not great, just needs updating, that's about it really!!
The staff ,
I booked a table for the Riverside restaurant for Valentine’s night and ended up in the bar / bistro downstairs Disappointed to say the least
the veiw and local to town
the bed was solid and gave me and my wife bad back
Bathroom floor filthy. Nothing done even after complaining to and showing 2 members of staff.Unhygienic.
Cleaning and maintanance
Lovely staff.Nice pool/spa area.
Dinner in bar was a bit disappointing.
Staff were amazing, especially the receptionist on arrival
Rooms were tatty for the money, but clean
Staff were really welcoming, EV chargers on site, free parking, central location, pool facilities, using local suppliers, for example Farrers.
Rooms very warm at night and mo obvious way to adjust temperature
The room was spacious and comfortable with plenty of storage and a round table as well as a desk. The bathroom was a good size with a bath and a shower. Lovely view of the river and Stramongate Bridge which meant there was only a 10min walk to where I was attending my course in the centre of Kendal. I did not have breakfast but the evening meals were excellent in the large restaurant. The pool was adequate size and a constant 1.35m deep with a jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. And adjacent to this was a large gym with around 20 exercise machines. The staff at reception and in the restaurant made you feel like a valued customer. Can't wait to stay there again.
I didn't want to leave
Friendly staff and facilities in handy location for rail station and town
Furniture and decor is a bit tatty in places
Location.
Pillows were a little hard.Thought there should have been toiletries in leisure area, or a least a note to say bring your own.
Good location good facilities helpful staff
Cleanliness was poor… we stayed in room 110 and the lampshades were THICK with dust, and dirty. Floor was dirty in bathroom
Location was perfect, so close to town.
The furniture needs updating, carpet has a big rip. Marks on the wall need cleaning.
Great location Good facilities Free under cover parking
A little bit old fashioned could do with an upgrade in the bedroom
Great location, right in the middle of town. Staff were friendly.
The room was located on the ground floor and smelt of cigarettes, and the carpet looked like there had been a flood at some point. Our bed was a small double and uncomfortable.
Bedroom was exceptionally warm. Having the constitution of a lizard, it was - stuffy. My partner on the other hand, enjoyed it. If there was a thermostat, I didn't find it. Next time eh?
My friend, who is as far removed from James Bond as any human could get, was given room 007. I had to languish in room 006. Next time eh?
