The Daffodil Hotel & Spa

Great location just a short walk to Grasmere and right across the street from Dove Cottage, Wordsworth home. Nice restaurant on site and beautiful views of the lake. Close to many small villages and hiking trails.

The area might get crowded in the summer. Would recommend shoulder season if possible.

No gym, contemporary interior.

Comfy bed and excellent breakfast. The location is perfect to explore lakes. Staff in the restaurant were very friendly.

One reception staff was so grumpy every time we interacted with him. Really off putting. I like to think we aren't any bother when we go away. Always polite and respectful, don't like to be a burden so I'm not sure what his problem was. Bedside light didn't work. Needs an update I think in the rooms, but dated but nothing to shout about. Wouldn't pay more than we did.

There was no Jacuzzi or outdoor heat pool.

A gorgeous hotel in a brilliant location, just a few minutes walk from Grasmere village. The surroundings are gorgeous and we look forward to going back in the summer. The room was exceptionally clean with a comfy bed and a gorgeous luxurious bathroom; we especially enjoyed the powerful shower and the gorgeous gel and shampoo available from the White Company. The spa facilities were exceptional, the sauna and steam room were great and not crowded when we used them. Loved the hydro pool but wished it would have been bigger to swim in it.

I would have loved comfier pillows, more like the memory foam type! :)

Beautiful hotel, the staff are lovely and attentive. The facilities and food on offer is brilliant.

Unfortunately the heating had broken whilst we was there. However the rooms were still warm which was great, the bar area and dining room Unfortunately was cold but they did have heaters out. This also ment the pool was only a tepid temperature which wasn't pleasant. The spa is nice overall, it has a nice steam room and sauna and I imagine with the heating fixed it would be great. I had the unfortunate experience of some noisy guest next to our room, hence the low score. However the hotel have compensated this, and was very understanding and helpful. I would stay here again. It is within beautiful grounds, the hotel is lovely.

Lovely comfy room and bed, and so quiet. Location was excellent, spa great after a day walking.

The breakfast were amazing and all of the staff were wonderful. The food selection was perfect and the items from the menu came really quickly. The room was beautiful and the bathroom was amazing; the bed was so big we loved it. The outer area of the hotel was great also, there's a lot of places to enjoy the lake

There was something in the room making us ill. When we got back to the room there were pools of water on the windows, we're not sure how they got there as all of the windows were closed. There was also black mould in the bathroom. We're not sure what it was. We got better immediately once we left, not sure what it was

Lovely hotel, in a beautiful location with a great spa. We had a room ‘without a view’ which was hilarious cos the views in every direction are lush, even overlooking the car park where we were. V comfy beds and food was good too. Staff were friendly and professional throughout.

Spa pool area was v slippy, we were warned but it made it less relaxing to have to be so careful underfoot.

Hotel staff friendly and helpful breakfast was great with a good selection to choose from.Located in a lovely village would recommend another stay in the near future

The hotel was in a very good location! Easy to access everything nearby either by car or public bus connections! The staff were very friendly, especially the waiting on staff unfortunately I didn’t catch his name but one gentleman in particular working the evening in the restaurant, very friendly and funny. The spa was lovely, it was a bit small but everyone was mindful of each other and didn’t have an issue with it at all. The rooms were spacious and clean, bathrooms were lovely. Food was also another point. Breakfast was lovely a nice buffet with plenty of selection and extras you can order from the kitchen such as pancakes and poached eggs!!

The only issue I had was with birthday extras I had paid for in the room, upon checking in I think they gave us the wrong room so the flowers and cake I had paid for weren’t there. However, reception was quick to amend this once it was bought to their attention and we moved rooms no issue where everything was. Reception did apologise for this and honestly it was only a minor issue that was resolved quickly. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff were so lovely, food was exceptional! The bed was so comfy and room spacious.

The spa was a little underwhelming as we didn't manage to book treatments, the hydropool seem to not be working all the way around and small areas for seating
