    Pros +

    • The location is perfect. Staff are friendly. Room was lovely.
    • Excellent, friendly and very efficient staff
    • Excellent location in the heart of the village.Plenty of car parking.Wonderful view from the Tweed suite that we stayed in. Warm was room and comfortable.Plenty of options for breakfast (although we thought 8:15 start for breakfast was a bit too late if you are planning on a long walk).Restaurant next door served excellent food.

    Cons -

    • Bathroom had not been properly cleaned. There was hair all over the floor and the toilet had not been cleaned correctly.
    • Too busy in restaurant and noisy.Pillows too hard. Cold in breakfast restsurant
    • Only comment would be that the breakfast room was very cold in the mornings. To be expected in an older property and in February! Also, the minor comment about the start time for breakfast.

Lovely hotel in pretty grounds. Lots of character and lovely decor. spacious room, comfy bed. Nice toiletries, very good breakfast and evening meal. Enjoyed the bar with the real fire .

I didn’t find the pillows very comfortable but husband thought they were fine .

Superb location, great team. Breakfast was brilliant. Can’t be complimentary enough. Stayed in the Mews 1 suite, extremely clean, great setup, even put birthday balloons up for my partners birthday. 10/10 stay.

    It was cost and classic

Nothing really but found it odd that you can take a dog but have to sit in a carpeted lounge for breakfast rather than in the large breakfast roomWe would much preferred to have been able to sit in the breakfast roomCould they have a few tables in the main breakfast room for dogs

Breakfast was good loads of choice, comfy big bed.

Supposed to be a Tweed Suites cosy room but very cold room, had to ask for heaters. Log burners in breakfast room and lounge downstairs but never alight, so couldnt warm up there. No lighting outside to show driveway when walking to hotel.

    Location and great bar

Unfortunately the rest of the lodge doesn’t match up to bar it has a very different atmosphere and dynamic. We took our little dog but felt a bit limited as to where could sit to relax as dogs aren’t allowed in the lounge area or the bar restaurant.

This is our second visit to stay at Tweedies. It is in a lovely location, nice comfortable rooms and very good breakfast.

We were allocated a dog friendly room, although we didn’t have a dog.The room was very nice and clean, but i feel dog friendly rooms should only be for guests with dogs.

    Location & friendly staff

Dog crumbs & hair in between the sofa. But we love dogs so didn’t really mind.

    Location

The view from the room was depressing I think £485 for two nights is more than enough for a decent view. Will not be staying here again. Need to offer non dairy milk and vegan margarine . Also it was cold in the breakfast room need the heating on

Lovely place, beautifully decorated public spaces and bedrooms, onsite bar/restaurant, free parking, good food and drink

Loved our little one night stay only booked last minute - the room was lovely and comfortable we found the location fabulous and the bar had a proper lake walker ambience - ate evening meal and bfast both were an absolute treat

Comfortable, relaxing with a lovely Christmas atmosphere what’s not to love - just the job

If I had to pick something it would be that it was chilly in the breakfast room but the breakfast and friendly staff warmed it up

    10BentleyPosted on: 12-8-2025

Room was lovely with very big bed.Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice.Location perfect in centre of Grasmere. The hall, stairs and dining room were decorated beautifully for Christmas.

Bed was a bit hard but that’s personal choice.

Lovely big bedroom, very clean. Good shower with plenty of hot water. Staff very friendly.

Bedroom was cold in the mornings as the radiator wasn't on. First morning was ok as it wasn't too cold outside, second morning was really cold outside so made the bedroom unpleasant. I think thier timer wasn't set properly. The full English breakfast was excellent unfortunately the eggs benedict was just warm with lumpy hollandaise sauce.

    8JordanPosted on: 12-2-2025

The Room was spacious. Nicely located not far from other villages in the lakes district. A bit quieter than the major town centres. You can set out on hikes around the lakes directly from the lodge. Breakfast was nice. Croissants and cereals breakfast bar with a choice of a freshly cooked plate of hot food. Staff were polite and helpful, providing suggestions of things to see and do in the area. The lodge restaurant was also good value for dinner.

Noise traveled through the walls and floors fairly easily. There was music playing everyday in the breakfast area below our room which we could hear. Didn't disturb us too much but it went from 7am all day until 9.30/10pm.
