It was all good.

Hotel was spotless good food friendly and helpful staff , room was comfortable
Car parking was a challenge not enough car parking and people resorted to parking on steep road upto the entrance, was allocated a room which had a wet room, no shelf in bathroom for own toiletries
We were given an upgrade to the banquet room which was huge, breakfast was lovely and situated close to train station which made exploring the lakes easy
Parking was difficult as it was very busy
The rooms were beautiful. The bathrooms are really nice. All areas are extremely tasteful and comfortable The breakfasts are good and the dinners were excellent
We were double charged on departure but the hotel rectified the problem quickly
The property was beautiful and the surroundings was lovely
The only complaint was that it was very cold in the restaurants and the steam and sauna rooms where very small
The staff were EXCEPTIONAL and couldn’t have been more helpful - from arranging a breakfast for us to take when we went to parkrun to general queries and help when ever needed. The room was beautiful - clean and the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in for a long time! The food was delicious and beautifully presented in the restaurant and the bar.
As a person who likes to use a gym when she’s away - this was a bit of a disappointment - more of an after thought - could be made a more of pleasant space to be in. The hotel was very busy ( valentines) resulting in problems parking later in the day but again the staff were very helpful in helping us find somewhere to park the car.
Receptionist friendly, food was good
Spa facilities were not good and very very small. We went in on a Sunday afternoon, there weren’t that many people in there and yet it was still really full. Only a small pool and small jacuzzi. Sauna and steam room tiny! My husband is very broad and we struggled sitting on the benches together in both rooms. There was also only SIX small lockers in the changing rooms! We had to leave our things on the changing room floors and hope they didn’t go missing :( Also very tired and dated in the spa area.
Staff was very welcoming, being upgraded was cherry on top of an amazing stay
Gym facilities wasnt the greatest
Beautiful original building and setting. The interior design inside is stunning & the penthouse suite was phenomenal. Staff were super friendly, professionally and knowledgable and really made the stay fun.
The Spa facilities I’m sure are next on the refurb list as it’s small and limited. It would be good to have fridges in the rooms or access to an ice machine on each floor which I’ve seen at other hotels.
The room was amazing, very stylish and modern with a classic twist.Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The Hotel is beautifully maintained and vwry welcoming.
Beautiful location Staff exceptional very helpful and friendly Room cosy and very clean Breakfast lors of choice Definetly stay again
Beautifully refurbished railway hotel. Staff lovely, food and drink perfect and location v picturesque. Dog friendly and rooms spacious.
Functional spa rather than luxurious but treatments were spot on and well priced. Suspect spa next for refurbishment.
Lovely setting, great staff, stylish rooms
Dinner at the hotel was really poor
The Grange Hotel is a lovely place; the food is excellent, the staff are lovely. Unlike many places these days, the background music fits in with the general ambience. At the (nearby) Netherwood Hotel, which we tried for a change recently, we were regaled with disco, trance, house music, you name it... and not in a 'background' way... up there where it could not be ignored. Enough to drive a person wishing to relax, or read a book, to go stark staring bonkers.
Because we were there in February in cold, miserable weather, it was not overly busy, but this meant a little lack of atmosphere, especially in the bar area. The bar is in the main entrance area and there is a tendency for either the inner or outer doors to be left open sometimes, which can make it feel draughty. Also, during the refurbishment, we thought that some of the larger, more comfy chairs had disappeared, which seems a shame.
clean showers comfortable bed good location The receptionists were pleasant and seemed genuinely pleased to see us when we arrived and throughout our stay the hotel layout was pleasing and the grounds were well laid out
Bed was so comfortable. Lovely building. Refurbished rooms are excellent. Facilities are great. Breakfast was excellent. Staff are really nice.
The hash browns need changing.
Property itself is lovely and well looked after. Not worth £150 they charged for the night however.
The sauna and steam room are very small and so is the lift. The steam room is the size of a toilet. The sauna is not a lot bigger.
The staff were fantastic, particularly the x2 female receptionists. The room was gorgeous, loved the pool area and was made feel so welcome with my dog.
Breakfast was ok.
