    Pros +

    • Staff friendly
    • Rooms very clean and spacious
    • Had really great food and was a really nice atmosphere exactly what I was expecting in a wonderful family run business would definitely stay again in the future.

    Cons -

    • Overpriced for what it is, a pub with rooms. Is the bedroom near the boilers? The room gets too warm and not easy to open windows. Hole in bathroom ceiling repaired but not painted. Very cheap options (undrinkable) for coffee and tea in the room
    • Having to ask for the heating to be put on. Breakfast too early as is checkout for the price charged. Friend had to ask for wifi passcode
    • The location was a bit of a hike uphill from the Oxenholme Station. Street had narrow sidewalks. Had expected it to be closer

Pub and breakfast were very good. Our room on second floor was spacious

The staff and owners were very nice and enjoyable to talk to. The property and the close proximity to the farm land was fun to sit out and listen to them. The food was excellent we had both dinner and breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable. I would most definitely book again if we were to come back to England.

The toilet had a little problem flushing. That was all I could complain about.

Enjoyed dinner. Good menu, good service, lots of locals.

The smoke smell at the entry to the restaurant (none inside). But the people enjoyed their time smoking, too. Small bed.

    The staff were friendly

Dirty room with tea stains on the wall, stains on the carpet, moldy windows and bathroom, grime on the seal on the shower, moths, dead fly and hair in the bathroom, dead flies accumulated in the ceiling light shade, terrible paint job, stained pillow inside pillow case, curtain holder fell off. The amount paid for the room did not reflect the experience at all. We did not have breakfast and we are glad we didn’t as the room was so badly kept. In addition to the above, this property is rated as a 4 star hotel. It absolutely does not live up to the standards of other 4 start hotels we have stayed in. Very disappointed.

Amazing place to stay, friendly hosts, clean comfortable room, pet friendly and the food was amazing. Play area to entertain children. Will definitely stay again.

    Having not stayed long enough

Beautiful location, excellent breakfast. There was a small playground for the kids. We had dinner at the inn and food was delicious.

The staff were an excellent team. Food in pub/restaurant was very good. Pub seems to be the main place for locals to visit each night.

They are gradually renovating and upgrading their rooms. It was a bit noisy during the day.

The Kentmere suite was very spacious and comfortable.

Just the confusion locating the reception to check-in/check-out.

Lovely peaceful location, large double ensuite room, the staff were friendly and very helpful, we arrived easter sunday for one night breaking our trip upto scotland. Excellent meal and a good breakfast in the morning. Lovely seating area outside. Would definitely stay again. Dog friendly.

    The squeaky headboard

The staff were very friendly and the rooms were lovely. We had a meal in the evening which was delicious.

Beds were creaky and the roof blinds had a little gap so daylight woke us up a little early.

Everything. Food room and selection of wines, beers etc

The fact we only stayed one night. Would have loved to stay longer.

Amazing hotel, room and staff. Very comfortable and cozy room, good breakfast and pet friendly hotel. Thank you!

The bedroom block was away from busy pub so nice and quiet. The room was very big and beautifully decorated. Lots of tea, coffee, milk, 3 cups and teaspoons, 3 glasses and a large bottle of tap water that can be refilled from outside tap. The TV is good size. 2 comfy chairs in the room a huge king size and a single bed. Breakfast served 8.30 - 9.30. Great choices. Yogurt, cereals, fruit juices Then 7 items to make your own breakfast. The produce is all locally sourced and tastes quality. We ate at the pub for evening meals. Excellent quality and chef cooked the meals to very high standard. We will be back...

Great place to stay with the dog. Staff super friendly, price was reasonable and included breakfast.

Changing one of our bookings was a bit tricky. Room was a bit tired.
