Pros +
- Excellent place to stay in a stunning little village. We had the room with the onsuite and it was all you could need for an excellent price.especially as with a nice bar downstairs you could happily avoid being in your room all evening. Parking around the back was convenient. And the breakfast was excellent
- The Sun Inn is in the centre of a beautiful little Village and the manager was very helpful and friendly.
- They were very helpful with storing bicycles and other equipment for our cycle tour of the Dales.
Cons -
- Breakfast time slot of upto 9am to order was abit early but not a big issue, and as I said in the good parts review it was excellent with great quantity
- We were very dissapointed withb The Sun Inn this time we have stayed at the Inn many times in the past years. It used to be a very friendly and comfortable. Our room was quite small as there had been an en suite taken out of the room size. Of which the shower had nowhere to put shampoo etc while having a shower. Also we were looking forward to a lovely evening meal to be told that food was no longer available. Such a shame for a lovely little Pub. I cant see that it will still be there in a years time, the manager did tell us that the Inn had been up for sale for over 2 years. Whoever buys it will need to spend a lots of money to bring it up to scratch but then it will be a little gold mine.
- I always prefer fresh coffe (eg coffee bags) to instant coffee in the room.

A decent breakfast, well presented, nicely cooked.
Fantastic breakfast, friendly helpfull hosts, cosy room with a great view, will definitely return
Staff was very polite. Breakfast was very good . Value for money
Location was very far and secluded . The rooms were very old Common shower for 4 rooms
Very friendly people. Great atmosphere. Nice food. Oldy world cute accommodation with fantastic comfy beds
This is an attractive, traditional pub. My room was irregular in shape due to the shape of the building, which adds to it's charm, and reduced by having the en-suite. There was sufficient space with good traditional furniture, generous tea and coffee facilities, access to a fridge for the use of residents and a comfortable bed. Full English breakfast or a choice from these elements was generous and well cooked, with cereal and fruit juice.
Fabulous little boozer. Excellent beers. No evening meal but great breakfast.. Dent is in a truly stunning area. The host, Joff, went a long way beyond average customer service to ensure a terrific stay.
Friendly staff, great breakfast + comfy bed. Overall a memorable cosy Inn experience in delightful setting.
Location fine breakfast exceptional served by very nice staff they were very friendley and efficient definately book here again
Friendly welcoming staff.Historic building in the centre of the village.Hearty breakfast. Excellent value for money
We were there joining a larger group and had a fabulous time. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was excellent and the environment great. So good to see a local pub still full of people, and most of them locals.
Nothing to dislike.
A good pub in a lovely village. Good breakfast.
An en suite would have been nice. The shower was good but the cubicle was a bit dirty.
Cheap and cheerfullLandlord and staff friendly and accomodatingGood selection of Ales
Breakfast was fantastic and the packed lunch also.Shower was amazing.
We were pleased to find that this old inn in the heart of the quaint and picturesque village of Dent with its cobbled streets had a car park at the rear. The staff were friendly and the cooked breakfast was delicious.
The room was somewhat cramped and the shower unit doors didn't close very effectively. We were informed that the shower unit is likely to be replaced soon and we felt we were fortunate to have the one room that did have en suite facilities.
Character old pub in an attractive village in the Dales. Bicycle storage in the garage. WiFi worked. Nice pub downstairs although they don't serve evening meals, however there's another pub that does just 2 minutes walk away. Good breakfast. Friendly staff.
Bathrooms are shared, but clean and decent shower., although there is a weak brain in the room. Mattress not that comfortable.
Location. Old pub in beautiful Dent Village. Room was good, bathroom was connected. Everything I needed was at hand.
Light outside during night was coming through curtains. But did not keep me from sleeping.
The views were exceptional, the staff brilliant, the bed comfy, and the breakfast huge!Honestly a beautiful stay and the ensuite room was massive!
The tv could be a little bigger, and the booking policy could be changed so the property doesn't lose out because of no shows
