Absolutely delightful village. Authentic pub and inn experience that many dream of having when traveling though England. Staff (particularly "May") ensured that our every need was accommodated, even providing breakfast for our very early departure. Can't say enough. Thank you

This is the perfect place to stop on your way to Scotland or even to spend a few days, as there are nice walks to do around. The town is nice too. The room we had is actually a good size two-bedroom flat and included a great full English breakfast. It is one of the best value for money place to stay in England!

We loved the location with easy access to downtown, the river, parking nearby, and the quaintness of the village. The hotel and townspeople were exceptionally nice and went out of their way to accommodate. Good ale and cider in the bar!

The breakfast offerings were too heavy for our liking and would’ve preferred fresh fruit and yogurt and granola.

Was made to feel really welcome by the manager. The dog got treated like a movie star and almost refused to leave after breakfast! Close to dog walks and lovely spot for cafes and local shops.

Nicely refurbished studio apartment with everything you need for a short stay

Very little to be critical about other than parking being off site. It is available on the Road opposite and the host provided a permit but there is limited space so first come first park etc

Great location and very well catered for. Good size lounge/diner and family bathroom.

Rooms are in the ground floor. One of them towards the outside area of the pub.Still very quiet!The apartment was a bit cold.

We stayed in the Crown Cottage which belongs to the Inn. A recently updated cottage just a few minutes walk from the pub. The cottage was excellent in all respects and really made our stay in Appleby. The cottage is well presented, spotlessly clean with all your home comforts. A real home from home. We ate our meals in the Crown and Cushion, which has a good menu. Staff were brilliant and attentive, even though it was really busy. We can certainly recommend the property to you. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed here on our way to Scotland and loved it. The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The breakfast was delicious.

The double bed was two twins pushed together which made for uncomfortable sleep

Nice homely pub in a quaint little town. All the members of staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast was superb. We had a stroll along the river Eden and up to the castle to walk off our breakfast. It was a perfect stopover on our travels to Scotland.

The apartment was even better than it was - a nice dinning table added, black out blinds in the rear bedroom also added and full sky on ALL THREE TVs - This property is OUTSTANDING!

Stayed in the Mews a 1 bedroom apartment,was very clean & tidy on arrival & a lovely little quaint place to stay.Really enjoyed our stay & breakfast at the crown& cushion was amazing.
