The Lounge Hotel & Bar

I was meeting family and needed a central location to stay and eat. Good selection on the dinner and breakfast menu. Exceptionally clean and comfortable.

Internet connection in the room was poor.

A good hotel in a good location. The bedroom and shower room were was clean and tidy.The bed was very comfortable. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. The breakfast was good and hot.

You could tell the entire property had undergone a complete makeover. Restaurant was buzzing at lunch & dinner. Excellent dinner. Bedrooms were beautiful. However breakfast was over cooked and dry - bacon, black pudding, inedible. Not enjoyable and we waited ages for it to arrive, so we were hoping freshly cooked. The only problem about room 24 was we heard the ladies and gents downstairs every single time the hand driers were used - but we went out during day, then were in restaurant in evening so minimised the issue. But by 6am could hear sounds downstairs like a swing door?? Weird sound, but assuming staff were arriving below us.

Room was a lot larger than when I previously stayed, very comfortable bed

Didn't provide a variety of tea for breakfast, I had to use my own Earl Grey tea bags or pay extra

Very responsive, helpful reception and room staff. Room was clean, nice layout and a very comfortable mattress- slept great. Delicious food in the restaurant.

Little noisy if you have a room on the street side but calmed down overnight.

Nice hotel good food, perfect for an overnight stop on way up to Scotland

The staff were friendly and responsive. The beds were comfy. They provide breakfast which was great.

The rooms are small though well-appointed but the lighting situation was weird - you couldn't just turn the bathroom light on without having other lights on so that was weird, the whole wiring set-up was strange and it took us a bit to figure out how to work the lights in the room. The bathroom was super small and hard to maneuver in and because the rooms were small there wasn't much space for open suitcases. While the chairs in the rooms added to a homey feel and made the room seem nicer I'd suggest swapping those out for more useful luggage stands just due to the size of the room. Like most places we stayed at, they only provide just enough toilet paper to get you through...

Wow what an elevated experience I always choose the Lounge because it has an atmosphere even on a Tuesday night when I stay over for work The makeover is a complete glow up to use my 3 daughters words I loved the new evening dining experience and breakfast was served in the revamped bar area which is lovely compared to the dingy corner used previously Great colour scheme

Right in town, good bicycle parking, they upgraded us to a three bedroom suite - not sure why - but it was comfortable. No ac, but we managed with opening the skylights, Really nice staff - Natalie at breakfast was lovely

Staff were lovely and welcoming from the moment I arrived and check in process was very smooth. Room was clean and comfortable with a comfy bed. Breakfast was tasty and very filling!

It said it included toiletries but it was a combined shower and hair gel which is never great.

Great central Penrith location with plenty of free parking very nearby - clear instructions sent prior to arrival. The property had been decorated in a contemporary style and was very clean. The shower room was very good with a powerful shower. Breakfast was AMAZING and the staff were all super friendly.

We got an excellent price for the room, which included breakfast. Sadly we got allocated room 10, which only has a tiny Velux window in the roof so no view and it was particularly warm that night so slightly uncomfortable sleep.

It worked in terms of travel and the bedroom was very comfortable.

The car parking is away from the hotel and hard to find. There was a lot of noise from doors banging from 6.00 am onwards, the closing of corridor doors carried throughout the building.

Couldn’t get shower to go to correct temperature ended up having a bath Think it would have been better having separate shower cubicle there was plenty room to do this in bathroom View was a horrid roof and there was a alleyway below we got woke up at the back of 5am by staff moving crates round
